Cheadle Lake Park closure during water plant pipeline installation

Construction of a pipeline for Lebanon’s new Water Treatment Plant will result in at least two closures of Cheadle Lake Park, according to a city statement.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 23, Slayden Constructors Inc. will begin construction activities related to crossing the Albany Santiam Canal with a raw water pipeline that will provide water to the Water Treatment Plant.

During this phase of construction, SCI will be installing sheet piles in and along the canal bank to allow access to install the pipe. While this work is being completed, Cheadle Lake Park (2700 River Road) will be closed. Access to the trail system will remain open off Weirich Drive. Residents in the impacted area should be prepared for increased construction noise and traffic in and out of the Cheadle Lake boat ramp parking lot.

Due to the excessive noise of the sheet pile installation, SCI will be completing this work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Over the next 30 days, there will be two separate periods of time, which may span four to seven days each, the sheet pile installation will occur.
