Betty June Wiley James, 86, passed away June 9, 2026, at her home in St. Clair County, Mo.

Betty was born in Wright City, Okla., on June 7, 1940, to Lester and Ruth Brooks Wiley.

She lived her younger years between Wright City and Sweet Home.

She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1958, and married Wallace Lee James Aug.  8, 1958. To this union three children were born: Larry, Sherry and Travis.

Betty was a homemaker most of her life in Sweet Home, until moving to Pleasant Hill, Mo., in 1979, where she began working at A.D. Mohr Greenhouse in Pleasant Hill, until her retirement in 1997. She and her husband then moved to southern St. Clair County, near Osceola, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ruth Wiley; and husband, Wallace Lee.

Betty is survived by her three children, Larry (Kim) James of Sweet Home, Sherry James of Sweet Home,  and Travis James, Osceola; brother Cecil (Glenda) Wiley of Hermitage, Mo; brothers-in-law  Ray (Pat) James of Scio, and Larry Rex James of Pleasant Hill, Mo.;  sister-in-law Carol Small of Pleasant Hill; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and friends.

A service was conducted on June 20.
