Lebanon to decide fate of municipal jail

The Lebanon City Council approved reinstatement of council stipends and referral of a tax levy during its meeting on Wednesday, July 8.

The city has historically provided a monthly stipend to the mayor and city council members in recognition of the time and responsibilities associated with serving in elected office. The amount paid has been periodically adjusted over the course of years, but the most recent pay was $1,000 for the mayor and $225 per councilor.
