The Seven Oak Theatre Club performed “Gravestone Manor,” a play encompassing seven different stories, on Dec. 7 and 8. From a monster dating game show to a girl’s brain’s HR department conducting an annual performance review, the middle school cast made their audience laugh.
Co-director Kathryn Collins said the kids worked extra hard this year to pull off the production, putting in approximately six hours every week since September to make it a success.
“They have put in so much work,” Collins said. “They’ve been learning their lines early and helping with costumes. They’ve been such a supportive group of kids and I’m just so proud of them.”
In the spring the club will bring back “Shrek the Musical Jr.,” a production that was performed in 2018. Collins explained the club didn’t have lights, microphones or other special equipment back then, so this year it will have more of a “wow” factor. It will also have one added feature: the original cast members, who will graduate from high school this year, will be involved.
“There’s a song at the end of that show where they’ll be able to come back on stage and join us,” Collins said.
