The Lebanon Museum hosts John Leard, author of “A Kid in the Fifties: Life in an Oregon Lumber Town,” at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Lebanon Public Library Community Room, 55 Academy St.
Leard, born in 1946, will be reading excerpts from his book, which tells the tale of his childhood starting in Texas and moving to the “Garden of Eden” in the Willamette Valley. In his book, he describes his family and his home, with its small “walk in, back out” bathroom, and what life was like for him growing up in a lumber town (Lebanon).
Sponsored by the Lebanon Museum Foundation and the Lebanon Public Library, this hour-long program is open to the public and free for all.
