Lebanon Fire District responded to a brush fire at 1400 E Grant St. at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 13.
Prior to arrival, responding units saw significant smoke from the area and immediately called for additional resources. First arriving units determined the fire was located at the old mill property at the east end of Milton Street. Firefighters found two separate quarter acre brush fires and were able to quickly knock down and contain the fire. Fire spread was limited to three quarters of an acre in total. Firefighters remained on scene for an additional hour and a half for mop-up. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The LFD responded with 13 firefighters on eight apparatus, and two chief officers. Albany Fire Department provided an ambulance for medical coverage.
