The position of mayor and three City Council positions in Lebanon will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
The City Council positions are four-year terms and the mayor serves a two-year term.
Candidates may file between July 13 and 5 p.m. on July 31.
Current city officials whose terms are expiring are: Mayor Paul Aziz; Robert Furlow, councilor for Ward I (Oak Creek Precinct); Rebecca Grizzle, councilor for Ward II (Pioneer Precinct); and Jason Bolen, councilor for Ward III (Santiam Precinct).
Candidates must be a qualified elector, residing within the ward (councilor position) they are running for, have resided in the City of Lebanon for six months immediately preceding the election on Nov. 3, and not be an immediate family member of a city employee or seated elected officer.
Candidates can file by paying a $25 fee or may file by petition (SEL121) that is signed by at least 25 active registered voters residing within the appropriate ward. SEL 121 must be approved by the City Recorder before circulatation. After collecting at least 25 signatures, a candidate must submit the signature sheets to the Linn County Elections Office so the signatures can be verified.
The deadline to pay by fee or file completed paperwork is 5 p.m. on July 31.
