Russell Drive, between Franklin Street and Mountain River Drive, will remain closed to through traffic until Sept. 14, city officials announced Friday, Aug. 17.
Delays in relocating overhead utility lines and pole removal have contributed to the extension of the closure, a city statement said.
Motorists should expect delays and other construction-related inconveniences. School bus access, garbage and mail service will continue and residents will be afforded “reasonable access” but should expect times when access to individual driveways may not be possible.
A detour will be available for motorists wishing to go to Riverview School.
The contractor on the project is Eugene Sand Construction.
