The City of Lebanon is opening up the Lebanon Senior Center as a cooling shelter for the senior population (ages 50 and over) to help during the expected record-breaking temperatures over the weekend.
It will be open on Saturday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There will also be transportation available to and from the cooling shelters within the Lebanon area during those same time frames. Call LINX Transit at (541) 258-4920 to arrange for a free ride.
Be aware, however, that there are no accommodations for pets, with the exception of service animals. Contact the Lebanon Senior Center at (541) 258-4919 for more information.
The Lebanon Soup Kitchen will also be open as a cooling station on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m.
