County OKs contract to train Juvenile Department staff

The Linn County Board of Commissioners approved a five-year contract totaling $37,500 with Kela Lynn Tuesday morning, Nov. 1, to train Juvenile Department staff.

Lynn will provide a six-step, non-violent crisis response training for Linn County Juvenile Department staff.

County Administrator Darrin Lane said Lynn is the only Life Space Crisis Intervention (L.S.C.I.) Certified Senior Trainer in Oregon.

The program was originally funded by the “Healthy Students, Healthy Schools” grant, but is now funded by Title 1D money through a contract with Greater Albany Public Schools.

The program is offered free to Linn County employees.

In other business, the commissioners:

♦ Finalized the sale of a small piece of tax foreclosed property in Sweet Home for $100 to Edwin L. Ames.

♦ Reappointed Dick Knowles and Amy Peer to positions 1 and 3 respectively on the Linn Local Advisory Committee.
