Cultural grant recipients announced

The Linn County Cultural Coalition completed its annual review of grant applications and identified its award recipients for 2024. The recipients will receive their award checks at a ceremony on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Santiam Place, 139 S. Main St., Lebanon.

The Coalition will award the following grants to the: Albany Arts Commission, $1,400 for First Friday artists’ receptions; Albany Public Schools Foundation, $1,200 for art supplies for Peely’s Resource Center; Albany Regional Museum, $2,000 for archival storage supplies; Ancient Ways marimba band, $699 for supplies and instruction; City of Scio, $1,200 to revise the Scio Tour Guide; Friends of the Scio Public Library, $900 for the summer reading program; Lebanon Community Chorus, $1,500 for music master classes; Lebanon Downtown Association, $1,000 for concerts at Academy Square; Lebanon Museum Foundation, $400 for speakers’ honorariums; Ophelia’s Place, $2,500 for after school and out-of-school multicultural programming for girls; Oregon Council of Fly Fishers, $500 for fly-tying classes; Scio Saturday Market, $1,750 for the Cultural Outreach Booth; SHOCASE, $1,800 for a Sweet Home summer music day camp; Sweet Home and Lebanon Downtown Farmers’ Markets, $2,300 for live music; Willamette Valley Concert Band, $1,350 for an original band composition; Willamette Valley Symphony, $1,000 for two concerts in Albany.

The Linn County Cultural Coalition is an independent, nonprofit corporation that promotes development of the arts, heritage and humanities in Linn County through periodic distributions of grant money from the Oregon Cultural Trust, supplemented by local donations. As ambassadors for the Oregon Cultural Trust, the Linn County Cultural Coalition is among 45 countywide and tribal cultural coalitions organized to ensure that Cultural Trust dollars reach every county in Oregon.
