Demolition of old water treatment plant begins

An excavator tears down the accelerator (a settling basin) at Lebanon’s former water treatment plant on Nov. 15. The old plant, along A and Second streets, was built in 1946. It used filter beds in large concrete holding tanks, while the city’s new plant uses a microfiltration process through pipes.
