A Lebanon man was arrested Sept. 12 on multiple charges after a traffic crash at the intersection of 12th Street and Airport Road.
According to Lebanon police, at approximately 9:57 a.m. on Sept. 12, Lebanon Police Officer Chance Snyder witnessed a crash at the intersection, when
, 30, allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign while traveling at a high rate of speed south on 12th Street, colliding with a vehicle that was traveling west on Airport Road.
After the two crashed vehicles came to rest in the yard of a residence in the area, Hanson-Eilers and a male passenger ran from the scene, police said. With assistance from the Oregon State Police, Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Hanson-Eilers was later located and taken into custody at the Willamette Speedway, following a short foot pursuit. The male passenger was not located immediately.
Hanson-Eilers was taken into custody on one count of third-degree assault, one felony and one misdemeanor count of failure to perform the duties of a driver, one count of reckless driving, one count of first-degree criminal mischief, and one misdemeanor count of driving while suspended.
The female driver of the vehicle that Hanson-Eilers collided with was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be serious injuries. Both vehicles involved incurred significant damage, both a trailer and shed on the property where the vehicles came to rest incurred extensive damage, police said.
