Local law enforcement agencies executed a drug-related search warrant at two separate locations near Hawthorne School Wednesday morning, May 10.
At about 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the Linn Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Linn County Interagency SWAT Team, in coordination with the Sweet Home Police Department, executed a drug-related search warrant at the two locations, police said in a statement posted on the department’s Facebook page.
“Due to the general proximity to the school, types of equipment used for this search warrant, and out of an abundance of caution, we contacted the Hawthorne Elementary School to request that they enter a Secure mode during the initial search warrant process,” the statement said.
“There were no safety issues that resulted from the execution of the search warrant, and no children or school staff encountered anyone related to this process.”
Multiple people have been detained at the residences in question, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
“Due to the nature of the investigation, no further information can be provided at this time,” the police post said.
