Lebanon police arrested a man following an early-morning pursuit through Lebanon.
At around 2:39 a.m. on April 23 Lebanon officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that didn’t have headlights on, but the driver, identified as Jacob T. Salvador, 32, (who has no known address) accelerated rapidly and drove against traffic on South Main Street. Officers pursued the vehicle out of town to the Spicer Drive and Highway 20 intersection, where Salvador turned the vehicle around and headed back toward the city limits of Lebanon.
According to a press release, Salvador and his passenger, later identified as Chavana Bowser, 33, of Sweet Home, ultimately abandoned the vehicle near the City Center Motel and took off on foot, subsequently allowing the vehicle to roll forward into a trash bin and fence, causing minor damage. A Lebanon Police K9 and handler pursued the driver on foot into the Primasing Motors parking lot where the K9 was deployed and successfully apprehended Salvador as he fled on foot through the lot.
It was reported that police learned through investigation that Salvador had ingested fentanyl. Officers on scene administered Narcan to Salvador, who was then transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for further evaluation and to address minor injuries sustained from the K9.
Salvador was charged with attempt to elude in a vehicle (felony), attempt to elude on foot (misdemeanor), two counts of reckless endangering another, reckless driving, hit and run – property damage, and resisting arrest. Salvador also previously had an outstanding
warrant for his arrest for giving false information.
Officers were unable to locate Bowser, who currently has multiple warrants out for her arrest.
