Lebanon Firefighters responded just before midnight Wednesday, April 22, to a reported structure fire in the 3000 block of Berlin Road.
According to the Lebanon Fire District, arriving firefighters found a fully involved fifth-wheel trailer fire with several trees as exposures. Due to the rural location of the fire, firefighters laid 300 feet of hose to pump from a water tender in the roadway to the fire.
No one was injured in the blaze, which was fought defensively, but one resident of the property was evaluated. The only victim of the fire was the owner of the trailer’s dog, who did not escape the blaze. The fire was under control within 20 minutes and crews remained on scene approximately another hour to cool hot spots on trees and in the trailer. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but does not appear suspicious, the LFD said.
The Lebanon Fire District responded with 12 personnel on two engines, two water tenders and one ALS medic unit, as well as two chief officers. Albany Fire Department assisted Lebanon by responding an engine and two ALS medic units to help cover the City of Lebanon during the incident.
