Hit and run leads to spike strips, blocking on Highway 20

A car chase from Lebanon to Sweet Home ended Saturday night, Oct. 14, with a Bend man facing several charges, according to Oregon state police. Troopers said Anthony Tallon, 49, hit a vehicle on Denny School road in Lebanon, causing serious injury. Tallon allegedly tried to escape Lebanon police in his black Ford Escape. Linn County deputies threw down spike strips and took out Tallon’s front tires, but Tallon managed to start heading east on Highway 20 driving 60 miles per hour on his rims, according to OSP.

State police then tried boxing Tallon in with their patrol cars twice, they said. On the second try, Tallon allegedly rammed a patrol car and the chase ended. He was booked into Linn County jail on charges including assault, DUII, and reckless driving.
