Veterans and staff at Oregon Veterans Home watched a flyover by Oregon Air National Guard F-15 Eagles, on May 8. The flyover was a salute and morale-booster to Oregonians on the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The flyover was coordinated as a part of Operation: American Resolve, to salute those at the forefront of the COVID-19 response. Executed in conjunction with regularly scheduled training, the planes flew over Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital and the OVH after a pass over Albany General Hospital, all at approximately 1,500 feet above ground level and approximately 400 mph airspeed, before heading north to Santiam Hospital in Stayton – a three-minute flight. The flyovers are scheduled to continue around the state through Memorial Day, with additional participation from the United States Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team, when and where to be determined.
And just for Mom….
Some 100 cars from Rollin’ Oldies and a Salem club, along with local residents, paraded to The Oaks, Willamette Manor and Meadowlark retirement homes to honor mothers residing there Saturday morning, May 9.
