Hundreds gathered along the streets in Albany for the 73rd Linn County Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 11. The parade’s crowd was nearly matched by the participants, ranging from the now-retired Adjutant General of the Oregon National Guard to F-15 jets soaring through the clouds.

Sweet Home made an appearance in the form of Mayor Susan Coleman, Color Guard Sergeant Stan Gray and the Sweet Home Elks Lodge. The lodge pulled a trailer promoting drug awareness in addition to recognizing the veterans. Sweet Home Elks member Al Severson also received a 50 year membership pin during the parade.

Attendees braved light November rain and an earnest Autumn chill as the parade marched from Jackson Street, onto Pacific Boulevard and down Lyon Street. Military vehicles and hot rods alike turned out to show pride in those who served.
