A Lebanon man was killed Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21, in a single-vehicle crash near Lacomb, Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vern Lee Clark, 36, of Lebanon was driving north on Ede Road near Lacomb in a 1995 Toyota Forerunner, when he lost control while trying to negotiate a corner. The vehicle rolled multiple times crushing the roof in and sheering off the left rear wheel before coming to rest in the eastbound lane of travel. Excessive speed and failure to wear his seatbelt contributed to the cause of the crash and Clark’s death, Yon said.
As of Monday it was not known if Clark was driving under the influence, Yon said.
Linn County deputies were assisted by the Lebanon Fire Department EMT’s, Linn County Medical Examiner and Huston Jost Funeral Home.
