LAFTA takes to air for Christmas

Lebanon Association for Theatre Arts performed “Christmas at the Airport” Dec. 7 and 8, and included an ugly Christmas sweater contest.

The play, written and directed by Terri Krebs, follows a Christmas Eve plane full of passengers headed home for the holidays. An engine malfunction forces the plane to land, leaving the passengers to get through the night as personalities, weariness and want of home lead to tension. The most unlikely passenger brings Christmas to all.

Each year, following their winter play, LAFTA performers and volunteers return to the stage for an informal Christmas caroling sing-along. Remaining audience members are encouraged to sing along. Krebs said she does the sing-along every year because many kids don’t know the lyrics to traditional Christmas songs.
