The Lebanon Community School District announced on March 23 that board member Russ McUne resigned.
McUne represented Zone 1 and has served on the board since 2008.
He sent an email on Wednesday, March 21 to LCSD Superintendent Rob Hess, board chair Tom Oliver and board members Mike Martin, Nick Brooks and Richard Borden.
“I am officially resigning from the school board effective immediately,” McUne said in the email. “I have enjoyed working with each of you and will continue to wish you all well into the future.”
Hess’ office sent a news release at 3:20 p.m. on Friday, March 23 stating that McUne had resigned.
“We are deeply grateful for the many years of service and leadership Russ has provided,” Oliver said in the release. “He has always been motivated by Lebanon school district’s commitment to pursuing excellence for every student, every day.”
The Board will formally announce this resignation and the timeline for filling the Zone 1 vacancy at its next regular meeting on April 12, which also is the first budget meeting.
There are four more school board meetings scheduled for the 2017-18 school year.
