UPDATE: Cody Lamar Baker plead guilty to two counts of third-degree and one count of tampering with physical evidence. The charge of third-degree rape was dismissed. Baker was sentenced to 15 days in jail and 36 months probation.
A Lebanon man was arrested Sunday, March 21, on suspicion of multiple sex crimes related to inappropriate contact with an underage female, Lebanon police reported.
Cody Lamar Baker, 20, was taken into custody at the Lebanon Justice Center without incident. He was charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, second-degree encouraging child sex abuse, and tampering with evidence.
He was lodged at Linn County Jail on those charges.
According to police, Baker’s arrest is the result of an investigation that stemmed from a

report that he had inappropriate contact with an identified, underage female subject who was known to Baker. The alleged crimes took place at several locations within the city limits of Lebanon. At this time, the Lebanon Police Department is not aware of any other victims related to this case, according to a department statement.
The Lebanon Police Department has had several prior contacts with Baker; however, he has not been the subject of any other criminal investigation with the Lebanon Police Department.
