East Linn Christian Academy’s Jedaiah Wasson (118), left, was the top runner of the day at the inaugural Husky Invitational in Sweet Home, which featured both Lebanon high schools in addition to 16 others at Community Chapel in Sweet Home Sept. 13. Wasson, a senior, ran 17:08.7, on a course that included two steep hills and two creek crossings, to place first in a field of 80 runners.
Lebanon junior Matthew Meckley was 12th in 18:45.6. ELCA was fifth out of 13 teams for the boys, with with 144 points, with Lebnaon right behind in sixth (152). South Albany was the winner with 65.
For the girls, Warriors senior Amy Workman was the top local finisher, ninth out of 54 runners in 22:44.3, as the Lebanon girls placed fifth (124 points). Corvallis won the girls varsity team race with 40 points.
