In an effort to make access to the library’s digital resources available to those who do not currently have a library card (or have an expired card), the Lebanon Public Library is offering a temporary E-card.
The E-card is free, regardless of whether you reside inside or outside city limits.
Digital resources include:
♦ Library2Go, which offers thousands of fiction and nonfiction books in various electronic formats, genres and subjects, downloadable to home computers, mp3 players and other mobile devices;
♦ Rocket Languages, which offers free (to library users) online language learning courses in 12 languages from Spanish to Arabic, as well as American Sign Language, and English for foreign language speakers;
♦ Britannica Online, which includes Encyclopedia Britannica, Merriam-Websters’ Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, World Data Analyst and World Atlas, Notable Quotations and Gateway to the Classics, magazine and journal articles, and live news feeds;
♦ Legal resources including the Legal Information Reference Center, Oregon Revised Statutes (codified state laws), and Oregon Law Help; and
♦ Free access to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital Medical Library.
Applicants must provide: name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, and driver’s license number.
Adults can register children in their household ages 5 and over.
Temporary cards will expire on June 1. When the library resumes normal operations, temporary cardholders will need to visit the library to complete the application process (non-resident fees will apply) and receive their physical library card.
All digital services are available at www.LebanonOregon.gov/library including Library2Go for e-books and e-audiobooks. (A “how to use Libby” PowerPoint is available for new users. If you need help logging in please leave a message and a staff member will return your call).
