Linn County burn ban remains

The Linn County Fire Defense Board has opted to continue the open burning ban in Linn County through this weekend due to red flag warnings of increased fire danger anticipated this weekend.

The LCFD board took proactive measures to address the heightened risk by implementing a series of fire restrictions beginning Aug. 12.

In alignment with the Oregon Dept. of Forestry’s assessment, the LCFD board announced restrictions on all open fires, including the prohibition of recreational and cooking fires originating from open fire pits that utilize wood or charcoal. This includes agricultural burning, but does not include the use of gas-fired barbeques or pellet barbeques.

The ODF and LCFD Board recommended the community stay informed, comply with implemented restrictions and remain vigilant to mitigate the risk of fire incidents. Stay up to date by visiting the Oregon Department of Forestry’s restrictions and closures.
