McDaniel Field at Christopher Columbus Park was dedicated Dec. 14 in honor of Jim and Heather McDaniel, who made a donation for the park to receive upgrades.
In addition to the McDaniels’ $25,000 donation, the City of Lebanon acquired a $206,500 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund for park improvements at Columbus Park, which included a new turf baseball field, the addition of a restroom, ADA compliant playground equipment, and an ADA pathway. Next spring, the basketball courts will be resurfaced.
The baseball field was christened “McDaniel Field” with a bronze plaque, and a ribbon cutting ceremony took place with JBO players in attendance.
