Members sought for city advisory panels

The City of Lebanon invites residents interested in becoming involved in local government to apply for upcoming vacancies on the following advisory commissions and committees:
♦ Budget Committee: Works with City Council members and staff to develop budget recommendations for council action and to approve the city’s tax rate. Openings are two three-year terms, one two-year term and one one-year term.
♦ Library Advisory Committee: Advises city staff and the City Council concerning library programming materials, overall public services, library facilities, grant opportunities and the appropriate uses of gifts made to the library.  Openings are two three-year terms and two one-year terms.
♦ Planning Commission: Members advise the City Council and serve as a quasi-judicial committee. The Planning Commission has the authority to make binding decisions regarding land-use activities on public and private property. One four-year term is open.
♦ Senior and Disabled Services Advisory Committee: Advises the Senior and Disabled Services Program Manager on rules and policies for governing the Senior Center and Dial-A-Bus programs, makes recommendations concerning senior programs, and provides input to staff and the City Council concerning the maintenance of/or improvements to Senior Center facilities. Two three-year terms are open.
Trees and Trails Advisory Committee: Acts in an advisory capacity to assist the City Council in assessing needs and planning in this area. One three-year term is open.
