A Lebanon Fire District crew was dispatched to a tree fire in the 34000 block of Glaser Drive at approximately 1:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The crew could see a large plum of smoke while en route to the location, and BC-31 immediately called for a first alarm. By the time they arrived, there was an approximately one-acre area of grass that had been burnt with several trees on fire. The home owners informed command that they were mowing grass when a spark from their lawn mower had ignited their field before moving into the trees.
Nine units from LFD responded to the fire with 16 firefighters. Tangent assisted by bringing a water tender. LFD staff urge caution when mowing, as fuels are still dry and the fire season has not yet ended.
