The Planning Commission held a public hearing and approved an application for a tentative eight-lot residential subdivision plat on property located between Santiam Highway and Seven Oak Middle School during its Aug. 17 meeting.
The application for the proposed subdivision indicates that the applicant, Toby Davis, intends to call the development “Cascade Estates.”
The proposed subdivision would sit on two tax lots at 3800 S. Santiam Hwy. with a total area of 1.33 acres in a residential mixed density zone.
Each lot, accessed by a private street off Cascade Drive, would be between 5,003 to 8,256 square feet.
“With each lot area being over 5,000 square feet, that provides the opportunity to do a single-family detached home or a duplex on the property,” Community Development Director Kelly Hart said.
“It also has the flexibility of different housing types that would allow for lesser property size, including single-family attached type dwelling units.”
The commission approved annexation of the properties at its Aug. 10 meeting.
In other business, the commission held a public hearing for and approved the annexation of 1821 S. 12th St., north of Airport Road.
The .454-acre lot is zoned residential mixed density and contains a single-family dwelling.
Annexation will allow the property owners to connect to city utility services.
No one opposed the proposal.
