Police charge local with sex crimes of a minor

The Lebanon Police Department issued a press release regarding a report it received in May 2022 about a possible sex crime involving an adult male and a male juvenile under the age of 16. Detectives were advised the juvenile had disclosed he was communicating with multiple individuals online and had met one of them in Lebanon.

During the investigation, the suspect allegedly exchanged images over the Internet and met with the boy.

Steven Troy Marquardt, 60, of Lebanon, was charged on July 17, 2023 with first-degree online sexual corruption of a minor, second-degree sex abuse, third-degree sodomy, and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.
