3:01 p.m. – Deputies investigated single-vehicle non-injury crash in 29900 block Sodaville Mountain Home Rd. Driver Tammi Kay Pitts, 64, of Lebanon was reportedly distracted by cigarettes and crashed her 2012 Kia Sportage into guard rail. Further information unavailable. Report taken.
7:44 p.m. – Candice Gutierrez, 42, of Lebanon, arrested in 2400 block Fuller Lane for violation of no-contact release agreement and on warrant after being “located at a residence and near someone she was not supposed to be around,” according to Sheriff’s log.
10:53 p.m. – Driver James Leroy Nunn, 56, of Albany, ran off road in 2011 Ford Taurus and crashed in fog, Denny School Rd./Oak St. No reported injuries. Later removed by towing company.

11:27 a.m. – Caller reported damage to his 2009 Mazda CX-5, parked on 5th St. Reported that someone had kicked his vehicle and broken the mirror. Noted that other vehicles on street also appeared to be damaged.

7:46 a.m. – Caller reported 2021 Bobcat T190 Skid Steer stolen from 32900 block of Bellinger Scale Road sometime between 10 p.m. previous night and 15 minutes prior to call. Described as white body with black cage, roof is black texture rolled on liner. “T190” in black paint and “Bobcat” logo in red and white. Key was with vehicle. 8:12 a.m. – Deputy patrolling 31200 block Bellinger Road located farm-style gate removed from hinge at first Weyerhaeuser gate on right after road turns to gravel. Lots of trash had been dumped in area, including “stolen mail.”

11:07 a.m. – Non-injury crash reported in 3000 block Stoltz Hill Road near Vaughn Lane. 2018 Honda Accord driven by Allen Craig Benjamin, 20, of Lebanon, struck side of bridge over Oak Creek, damaging wheel and tire and disabling vehicle. Report taken.

3:13 p.m. – Deputy mediated dispute between neighbors over garbage buried “long ago” that happened to be on a property line in 2500 block Primrose St. Civil agreement was reached.
5:02 p.m. – Caller reported his daughter had been in Wal-Mart approximately 30 minutes earlier, placed her blue backpack near vending machines on grocery side of store while she went in and shopped. 8:30 a.m. – Single-vehicle non-injury crash reported in 35300 block of Spicer Dr. Driver Thomas Woods, 21, of Salem, lost control of 1996 Oldsmobile on icy roadway, went into ditch, hitting another Jacob Breding’s vehicle (above) that had crashed into the ditch only minutes before. 10:12 a.m. – Burglary reported at church on 2nd St. sometime between 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, and time of call. Unknown how entry was made, although a window was broken inside the building. 1:07 p.m. – Caller reported theft of potted plants in porcelain containers from address on Cascade Dr.
1:24 p.m. – Caller reported trespasser in 30700 block Hazen Lane. Deputy investigated, discovered “trespasser” was process server who was at location to serve papers. Caller agreed that server could take care of business.

3:08 p.m. – Caller reported theft of homemade flatbed trailer, 34500 block E. Lacomb Road. Described as 14-foot double-axle, diamond-plated with toolbox. It was full of scrap metal.Value $4,500. Report taken.

8:58 a.m. – Caller reported blue 1964 CJ-5 Jeep with black top stolen during previous hour on Elmore St. Later located in Stayton area. Recovered by Linn County Sheriff’s Office and returned to owner.

11:36 p.m. – Deputies spotted vehicle traveling at 63 mph in posted 35 mph zone on Airport Road through Lebanon. Per Sheriff’s Office policy, deputies did not pursue after driver accelerated when passing deputies. Vehicle was later found abandoned in a driveway on Golden Valley Drive with two flat tires and a broken wheel. Towed as a hazard, as it was blocking driveway. Report taken.

10:27 a.m. – Caller reported wallet stolen and credit card used at 7:11 a.m. at Walmart. Caller told police he believed he had dropped the wallet at Knot Hole on Jan. 15. Wallet contained $450 in cash and credit card, which was used multiple times between Lebanon and Salem, totaling approximately $360 in purchases. Report taken. Oak Terrace.
7:31 p.m. – Caller reported his Carhartt bi-fold wallet was stolen when he left it on a change machine the previous night at Spin City. Said someone hacked into his bank account and had frozen his bank assets. Wallet contained his ID, Social Security card, debit cards and $160 in cash. He told police someone had moved $10,000 from his savings to his checking account, but he had the bank freeze the accounts. Weldwood Dr.

2:55 p.m. – Caller reported 47-year-old man bitten while trying to break up dog fight, Vaughn Road. Labrador and boxer were going at it and Lab bit victim, who was taken to emergency room for treatment. Quarantine notice issued for both dogs.
3:07 p.m. – Dawn M. Bender, 45, cited and released on warrants. 5th St.
5:07 p.m. – Sheriff’s Office made traffic stop on speeding vehicle Santiam Highway/Waterloo Road. Turned out it was medical emergency. Medics were called, transported female to hospital.
8:09 p.m. – Caller reported that pit bull had bitten 66-year-old man about 3:45 p.m. as he attempted to break up fight between it and another dog, which was also bitten. Pit bull quarantined. Report taken.

1:01 a.m. – Deputy located vehicle on shoulder in 31200 block Santiam Hwy. with no hazards. Hose had come loose, and joint effort resulted in it being reconnected. After radiator cooled, deputy provided some bottles of water and occupants continued on.
4:20 a.m. – Driver cited for speeding, 80/55, 29500 block Santiam Hwy.
9:28 a.m. – Caller reported theft from job site on Village over weekend. 16-foot lifting straps with shackles attached missing from site. Value $300 to $400.

Missing items included orange and white Stihl 021 chainsaw, Husky 550XP Mark 1 chainsaw, two orange and white Stihl backpack blowers – models BR350 and BR600, and red and black Honda 3000IS generator. 1:05 p.m. – Caller reported shoplifting at store on Main St. Suspect described as having short brown hair and large green or brown military-style backpack, wearing black rubber rain boots, black coat, blue jeans and red flannel shirt. Allegedly took nachos and several candy bars, total value $24.
1:39 p.m. – Caller reported attempted theft of catalytic converter on 2019 Chevy school bus that had been parked on 5th about 10 p.m. the previous night. Estimated cost to repair $500 to $1,000. Fencing was cut. Small flashlight recovered. Investigation continuing. Report taken.

8:20 a.m. – Caller reported her husband’s truck had been broken into. Clothing was found down the street and his wallet, including credit cards, a checkbook and coins were missing. Airway St. Report taken.
