Aug. 9
2:13 a.m. – Kurtis Riley McClurg, 33, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear and a Linn County Justice Court warrant for contempt of court.
7:20 a.m. – Nicholas Gene Ford, 35, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended, and a Linn County Sheriff’s Office warrant for parole violation impersonating an officer.
8:31 a.m. – Caller reported theft of diesel from semi-truck owned by Laticrete. Caller said diesel and car parts are often stolen. Video surveillance is being reviewed.
9:03 a.m. – Report taken for car crash, Main St.
9:18 a.m. – Caller reported a blue van with a syringe painted on it and the word “genocide” has been pulling up to the emergency doors of Albany and Lebanon hospitals and watching staff.
9:26 a.m. – Caller reported items stolen from a tractor driven into a tree, Oak St./Fur Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, someone had come onto the caller’s property and gotten in a tractor. Caller said someone then drove it into a tree, then drove it back near the original parking area. Caller said about $8,000 in damage was done to the tractor. Some $40 in hand tools were taken as well. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.
9:27 a.m. – Caller reported that a white van marked “Willamette Medical Transport” has arrived twice now to take her to Portland for medical treatment, but she said she’s never requested this service.
9:56 a.m. – Wendy Butkovich, 54, of Lebanon, was cited for careless driving after road construction workers in the area of Berlin Road/Grant St. reported the driver who, according to the Sheriff’s Office, “unlawfully sped past a pilot vehicle in the construction zone.”
10:53 a.m. – Caller reported that he found a piano and other trash in his driveway, Rose St.
11:20 a.m. – Sheri Bower was cited for trespassing, Santiam Hwy.
12:12 p.m. – Justin Guy Griesbach, 45, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear.
12:44 p.m. – Caller reported a male stealing packages, 5th St.
1:26 p.m. – Daniella Ena Thien, 35, was cited for Lincoln County Circuit Court warrants for failures to appear on original charges of DUII and reckless driving.
2:01 p.m. – 12-year-old caller reported the theft of gray Huffy mountain bike from an apartment on F St.
2:14 p.m. – Eddie Joe Zarr, 43, was cited for driving while suspended, improper display and failure to carry proof of insurance, Grant St.
2:40 p.m. – Linda Kennedy, 32, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on warrants, 2600 block of Primrose St. Report taken.
4:07 p.m. – David William Ewing, 47, was cited for driving while suspended and uninsured, and improper display, Burdell Blvd.
4:30 p.m. – Jamie Zurcher, 39, of Lebanon, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant, 31100 block of 2nd St. Report taken.
5:51 p.m. – Report taken for fraudulent use accounts after caller’s wallet and phone were stolen, 9th St.
7:22 p.m. – Caller reported finding bones in the 34900 block of Bond Road. Sheriff’s Office determined that they were animal remains.
7:56 p.m. – Benjamin Namitz, 31, of Lyons, was cited for passing in a no-passing zone after a deputy stopped him in highway work zone. Fine doubled because it was a construction zone. Hwy. 226/Cold Spring Road.
Aug. 8
1:40 a.m. – Nicklaus Glasser, 32, of Lebanon, was cited on a warrant, 2200 block of Primrose St. Report taken.
4:00 a.m. – Shane M. Blanshan, 40, of Lebanon, was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and open container, and on multiple arrest warrants. 800 block of Cascade Drive. Report taken.
8:01 a.m. – Caller reported two tires possibly slashed on car, 12th St. Damage valued at $60.
9:09 a.m. – Caller reported that a male had taken something from her neighbor’s car, Falcon Ct.
9:46 a.m. – Tiffany Denise Becker, 53, was cited for improper display and failure to carry proof of insurance, Santiam Hwy.
10:16 a.m. – Two Cascade Drive residents were trespassed by their property manager and will be evicted for allegedly feeding stray cats and harassing the management. Manager had also trapped a cat.
10:28 a.m. – Caller reported two unlocked vehicles were entered the previous evening, Eagles Drive.
10:36 a.m. – Report taken for found property: metal building and wiring supplies.
11:04 a.m. – Caller reported registration and insurance papers stolen from unlocked car, Hiatt St.
12:00 p.m. – Samuel Armstrong Monroe Jr., 45, was cited for a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for driving while suspended.
12:10 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog bit her dog and 14-year-old son at Bob Smith Park.
12:49 p.m. – Caller reported two veteran plates stolen from car, Market St.
3:43 p.m. – Caller reported theft of copper wire from construction site next to Walmart.
4:27 p.m. – Caller reported people living in temporary homes on neighboring property in violation of county code, 1100 block of Crowfoot Road. Sheriff’s Office referred caller to county Planning and Building Department.
4:46 p.m. – Caller reported subjects riding a dirt bike very fast up and down Charlie Ave.
5:52 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs on leashes were fighting, Stoltz Hill Road. Both dogs belong to same owner.
5:56 p.m. – Anna Maria Martel, 36, of Lebanon, was cited for driving uninsured, failure to register vehicle. 200 block of W. Airport Road.
6:07 p.m. – Caller reported being chased by a dog, who bit at her feet and ankles while she ran, Acorn St. She kicked at the dog and its owner threatened her. The owner was counseled about leashing her dog.
6:54 p.m. – Jorge Evan Negrete, 35, of Lebanon, was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle, 39000 block of River Drive.
7:47 p.m. – Amy Elizabeth Conner, 43, of Lebanon, was cited for county code violations associated with what Sheriff’s log describes as excessive “junk” and barking dogs, 400 block of Cascade Drive.
10:17 p.m. – Deputies responded to Willamette Speedway after employee driving around the stadium spotted male who, according to the Sheriff’s Office, was trespassing and appeared to be looking for something to steal. He was scared off before deputies arrived.
Aug. 7
3:20 a.m. – William McDaniel, 56, of Lebanon, was cited on a warrant, 2000 block of Primrose St. Report taken.
11:35 a.m. – Caller reported an elderly man outside of his car “touching himself with both hands,” Tangent St. The man told the responding officer that he struggled with issues and used a bottle for urination when he couldn’t access a bathroom.
1:08 p.m. – Caller reported that a car fell from a trailer and was blocking traffic, Airport Road.
1:23 p.m. – Report taken for stolen pistol, Tasha Way. The owner had just moved to Arizona and thought the movers he’d hired had stolen it.
2:29 p.m. – Deputies located two females who had gotten lost while hiking off the 30300 block of Butte Creek Road and assisted them to their vehicle.
4:12 p.m. – Vehicle burglary reported in Waterloo Park, 31200 block of 1st St., Waterloo. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the car was parked at Waterloo Park while caller floated the river for a day. Arrived to find window broken out, and a laptop and cash taken. Total value undetermined. DNA evidence taken and sent to lab. Report taken.
7:06 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs in a car with windows cracked, 5th St. Responding officer found several people with the van parked in the shade with its back hatch open. Dogs did not appear to be in distress.
10:39 p.m. – Eddie Zarr, 43, of Lebanon, was cited for driving while suspended, Airport Road/2nd St.
11:03 p.m. – Caller reported two aggressive dogs coming onto his property and growling at him, Mayfly St.
11:52 p.m. – Bryce Bates, 45, of Salem, cited on warrants, 000 block of Weldwood Drive. Report taken.
Aug. 6
1:28 a.m. – Ryan Wilson, 34, of Lebanon, was cited for multiple warrants, 000 block of E. Elmore St. Report taken.
4:01 a.m. – Diana Payne, 54, of Lebanon, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant, 31100 block of 2nd St. Report taken.
5:58 a.m. – Christopher Jayne, 33, of Sweet Home, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant, 37100 block of Rock Hill Drive. Report taken.
8:48 a.m. – Caller reported a dog in a car with windows cracked, parked in shade. Officer found the dog did not appear in distress and the outdoor temperature was 64 degrees.
12:08 p.m. – Officer and medics responded to a suicidal subject who’d cut herself.
1:47 p.m. – Kyle Andrew Metzger, 32, was cited for a a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation criminal trespass II, a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of burglary II, and a Lebanon Justice Court warrant for contempt.
3:19 p.m. – Caller reported a dog-at-large growling at people, 15th St.
4:19 p.m. – Deputy responded to a report of a theft from motor vehicle in Waterloo Park, 31200 block of 1st St. Caller had parked at the Waterloo boat ramp while swimming in the river. Window was slightly down and a pink purse was stolen, containing a cell phone and expensive perfume. Total value: $195. Under investigation. Report taken.
4:30 p.m. – Caller reported a dog panting in a car for at least 25 minutes, Main St. An officer counseled the owner about leaving her dog in the car during summer months.
7:31 p.m. – Report taken for police officer hold regarding a person who a caller said had tried to kill himself.
8:04 p.m. – Two bikes found “stashed” on a corner of property, seized and entered into LEDS.
9:14 p.m. – Burglary reported in the 40800 block of McDowell Creek Road. Someone broke into a vacant house and stole Milwaukee cordless tools and two freezers. Total value: $1,000. Report taken.
9:25 p.m. – Stefani Brock, 32, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on warrant, 500 block of N. Santiam Hwy. Report taken.
Aug. 5
1:38 a.m. – Jessica Marie Jones, 39, was cited for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for criminal trespass II.
6:36 a.m. – Colin Ryan Chambers, 21, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, 5th St. Report taken for car crash.
10:30 a.m. – Schrene Worley, 53, and James Cripe, 52, both of Waterloo, were both arrested for offensive littering, 31000 block of 4th St., Waterloo. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the two had been setting up camp on the county right of way. They had been given a month to clean up trash strewn about. Nothing had been cleared, and the mess was worse. Both were cited. Report taken.
11:35 a.m. – Caller reported their parked car was struck by a Kia Sorento van (hit-and-run), Santiam Hwy.
1:26 p.m. – Durrell Monroe Borden, Jr., 42, was cited for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for trespass I.
5:02 p.m. – Steven Sutton was cited for criminal mischief II, Park St.
6:16 p.m. – Caller reported dog in a car with the windows slightly down, Santiam Hwy.
7:01 p.m. – Caller reported a transient camp built a camp on private property in the 31000 block of Old Santiam Hwy. Deputies will be on lookout for individuals on the property.
7:31 p.m. – Joshua Earl Robin, 39, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for contempt – driving while suspended.
7:48 p.m. – Caller reported that a male was masturbating outside his car, Main St. The male, an elderly man, told the officer he has to pee often and has to use a bottle because he can’t make it to the bathroom in time. He showed the used bottle to the officer, who informed the male about urinating in public laws. He said the caller was drawing her own “disgusting conclusions” to a rather innocent medical condition.
7:52 p.m. – Zachary C. Kempton, 30, was cited for Linn County Circuit Court warrants for providing false info to a police officer and failure to appear on an original charge of theft I.
8:57 p.m. – Caller made multiple prank calls.
Aug. 4
12:56 a.m. – Caller reported a male and female yelling at each other for more than an hour, then the female screamed for help, 12th St. An officer determined that the two were playing “Call of Duty.”
2:34 a.m. – Abrielle Cummings, 38, of Lebanon, was cited for speeding, 78/55, 35200 block of Hwy. 34.
7:17 a.m. – Caller reported glass window broken at a business, Main St. Report taken.
11:33 a.m. – Caller said he was hiding in a closet because someone broke in through a window and was in the house. Officers determined it was a prank call.
12:36 p.m. – Caller reported suspicious male parked for several hours near her property, 37800 block of Sodaville Cutoff Drive. Its occupant was identified as private investigator. No crimes.
12:40 p.m. – Report taken for car versus bicycle crash, Airport Road. The driver was turning onto 7th St. when he saw the bicyclist, but didn’t have time to avoid hitting him. The bicyclist insisted he was OK. It was determined the bicyclist was at fault because he was riding westbound in a bicycle lane clearly stated for eastbound travel only.
1:19 p.m. – Caller made multiple prank calls. Under investigation.
1:42 p.m. – Report taken for car crash, Santiam Hwy.
1:55 p.m. – Report taken for found bicycle, 2nd St.
2:32 p.m. – Report taken for burglary, 8th St. Caller said she awoke from a nap to find her formerly locked front door open and the following items missing: family keepsakes, cash, medication and glasses.
3:32 p.m. – Caller reported that her neighbor sent a suicide text and instructed her to go to her house for her dog. Responding officers eventually found the woman at the dam on River Road, deceased.
9:09 p.m. – Second call of day from the 35100 block of Ede Road involved parents who, according to Sheriff’s log, were arguing over difference in parenting styles. One wanted son to be at camp for children with behavioral problems; the other did not.
11:50 p.m. – Sheriff’s Office responded to Waterloo Park, 31200 block 1st St. to a report of suspicious person. Individual stated they were looking for friend, then wanted to camp without paying. Individual was offered ride, chose to walk back to town.
Aug. 3
1:06 a.m. – Joshua Tallman, 32, of Lebanon, was arrested for eluding, failing to perform duties of driver after property damage. Dakotah Hodson, 24, of Lebanon, cited on multiple warrants. 2nd/J streets. According to Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop Tallman’s vehicle for traffic violation. The Honda Civic speed off and ran some red lights. Deputies did not pursue the car. A deputy located the car a couple blocks away, which had crashed into a curb and a small fence. The two occupants of the car fled on foot. Albany Police K9 and Benton County Sheriff’s drone responded to assist. One subject was located by the police K9, and the other was found hiding on top of a garden shed via drone. Both were taken into custody. Report taken.
2:09 a.m. – Caller reported a male was swinging a stick and screaming, “Someone is going to get beat tonight,” Main St.
5:53 a.m. – Stolen U-Haul recovered in 2500 block S. Santiam Hwy. According to Sheriff’s Office, 16- foot box truck was located in the Grocery Outlet parking lot. LCSO checked the records on the plate and found it was reported as stolen from Sutherlin. UHaul said the truck had been parked in the return lot and someone had broken into the key box and took the truck. Report taken.
10:15 a.m. – Report taken for car crash, Main St. Driver #1 reportedly fell asleep and jumped a curb, hitting two parked cars.
11:37 a.m. – Martin Wilson, 48, of Lebanon, lodged at Linn County Jail for parole violation warrant and Linn County warrant for failure to appear for strangulation, 37700 block Courtney Creek Dr. Report taken.
11:41 a.m. – Deputy responded to bull loose along Hwy. 20, near Santiam Terrace Rd. Bull was contained and owner arrived. Warned for livestock at large.
12:15 p.m. – Dennis Borden, 40, and Valerie Palacios, 34, both of Lebanon, cited and released for first-degree criminal trespass, 1700 block S. 7th St. Caller reported people in abandoned house, in which Palacios had already been cited. Report taken.
12:25 p.m. – Samuel West, 41, cited for speeding, 83/55, 36900 block of Hwy. 226.
3:23 p.m. – Report taken for car crash, Main St.
4:39 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog in a hot car for at least 25 minutes appeared to be in distress, Santiam Hwy. The windows were cracked, outdoor temperature at 87 degrees. Jezemine Lee was cited for animal neglect II.
4:57 p.m. – Marick Allen Tyree Best, 21, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation driving while suspended and failure to carry proof, and a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for harassment.
7:54 p.m. – David Driskell, 62, of Lebanon, arrested on outstanding warrant and for second-degree domestic assault. Dakotah Hodson, 24, of Lebanon, arrested for second-degree domestic assault. 37000 block Middle Ridge Dr. According to Sheriff’s Office, grandfather and grandson were physically fighting during an argument. Both parties were allegedly aggressors and arrested for assault after receiving staples at the hospital. Report taken.
Aug. 2
12:40 a.m. – Aaron Spinney, 49, of Lebanon, was cited for driving while suspended, 39300 block River Drive.
1:38 a.m. – Laura Hadland, 27, of Sweet Home, was cited for driving uninsured, 3500 block of S. Santiam Hwy.
7:44 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking around with a sledgehammer, Oak St.
8:02 a.m. – Caller reported a couple male subjects in their 20s making inappropriate sexual comments to staff and juvenile staff at Lebanon Community Pool. They are known to visit the pool Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings between 7:30 and 9 p.m.
8:15 a.m. – Report taken for found skill saw.
8:21 a.m. – Caller reported that a male appeared to be digging under the walkway on 3rd St. with a pool stick.
10:58 a.m. – Report taken for theft of items from house including silver pocket watch, pocket knife, diamond stick pin, OSU class ring and 1971 West Point class ring.
11:30 a.m. – Report taken for vehicle prowl, Stoltz Hill Road.
12:36 p.m. – Medics who responded to a call reported a dead dog in the middle of hall. A responding officer determined the 17-year-old animal died three days prior but the owner had to leave for Salem to deal with a medical issue and could not have the dog removed before then. Food and water was available, and there were no signs of abuse.
2:12 p.m. – Caller reported a male was soliciting on foot for Brooks Pest Co., Vaughan Lane. The male asked to fill his water bottle, but refused to use water from the hose. He refused to leave until he got cold water. The caller later checked her security camera and found that he had tried to open the door but it was locked. Then he knocked loudly multiple times before she answered and gave him water. The company was contacted and informed of a city ordinance requiring permits for solicitors.
4:38 p.m. – Phone harassment reported between males who dated the same female, 36100 block of Bohlken Drive.
8:35 p.m. – Blake Mulligan, 21 of Lebanon, cited for speeding, 92/55, Santiam Hwy./Waterloo Road.
8:43 p.m. – Report taken for car crash, Main St. Cleta Jeanne Freiboth will be submitted to DMV for a retest in lieu of a citation.
8:56 p.m. – Residents in 200 block Alder St. contacted after deputy noticed heavy smoke from a backyard during high fire danger. Contacted owners, who were burning yard debris. They were told to put the fire out, as it was not a burn day.
9:59 p.m. – Crystal Woodward, 39, of Albany, cited on warrant, 31200 block 1st St.
Aug. 1
12:31 a.m. – Single-vehicle crash reported in 28900 block Sodaville Mountain Home Rd. According to Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old driver swerved to miss deer.
12:37 a.m. – Subject tried to break into Let’s Get Weird Tattoo Studio.
8:12 a.m. – Vehicle burglary reported in 1300 block E. Grant St. According to Sheriff’s Office, unknown person got onto the fenced property where a tree service truck was parked. Rope, two Stihl chainsaws, a Stihl leaf blower, and two climbing lines with bags were taken from the truck. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.
9:15 a.m. – Caller reported their car was stolen but they found it on Vine St. Police will review video surveillance of the theft.
10:46 a.m. – Caller reported someone posted a photo of Ralph Gibbs and part of a police case to a public bulletin board, Grove St. The post was removed.
11:44 a.m. – Caller reported a pest control solicitor was going door to door. Officer told the peddler he needs a permit, and informed the company they will be cited if they don’t get peddler permits.
1:03 p.m. – Officer provided a courtesy ride to Second Chance in Albany for David Philip Reeder, 65.
1:17 p.m. – Alexander Anton Abshere, 28, was cited for no valid operator’s license, no insurance and failure to yield, Airport Rd.
1:38 p.m. – Alexander Anton Abshere, 28, was cited for a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment.
3:00 p.m. – Report taken for investigation of fraud, Main St.
3:09 p.m. – Caller reported his tire slashed in 30100 block Sodaville Mtn. Home Rd.
4:49 p.m. – Report taken for alleged choking and biting of a female, Elmore St.
8:07 p.m. – Caller reported a female was yelling about drugs and using inappropriate names, Santiam Hwy. Caller just wants her to stop screaming. Officer was able to calm the female down.
8:45 p.m. – Caller reported subject going door to door selling pest control, Antioch St. Officer unable to locate the person. Again a call was made to the company.
9:23 p.m. – Caller said someone is breaking into their apartment, Oak St. The address has had multiple false swatting calls in the past, and this report was again found to be false.
10:53 p.m. – Valerie Palacios, 34, of Eugene, cited for first-degree criminal trespass, 1700 block S. 7th St. According to Sheriff’s Office, Palacios was reported by a neighbor to be inside of an abandoned house at the location. Deputies arrived and located her inside the house. She had no rights to the house and was cited to appear in court. Report taken.
11:41 p.m. – Nickolas Gaskey, 38, of Sweet Home, cited for driving without license, driving without insurance, 2900 block S. Santiam Hwy.
11:55 p.m. – Caller reported a female was taking clothes off and removing hoses on the property, F St. Valerie Palacios was asked to leave.
July 31
5:02 a.m. – Anthony Lee Marker, 31, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal trespass I, and an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation.
12:21 p.m. – Patrick James Mallory, 29, was cited for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of assault to an officer.
1:41 p.m. – Caller reported large number of battery-powered Milwaukee hand tools stolen from van in 38100 block Meerbug Way. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.
2:27 p.m. – Kevin Michael Osberg, 34, was cited for theft I and trespass for the theft of a two leaf blowers valued at $1149.98.
2:46 p.m. – Caller reported tools stolen from his attached garage in 38100 block Meerbug Way. (This property is next door to the one in the previous entry.) Investigation ongoing. Report taken.
5:13 p.m. – Steven Ballweber, 33, of Lebanon, cited and released on warrants, 400 block Weldwood Dr. Report taken.
5:36 p.m. – Report taken for criminal mischief, Rose St. A male reportedly damaged a garage and front door. Damage valued at $2,000.
6:01 p.m. – Michael Matthews, 37, of Lebanon, cited and released on warrant, 100 block E. Airport Rd. Report taken.
6:06 p.m. – Caller reported a yellow Corvette speeds up and down Milton St.
7:49 p.m. – Caller reported a juvenile driving a yellow Corvette is speeding on Ash St. and almost hit him today. Dad of driver said the car is noisy so it sounds like it’s going faster than it really is, but he took the keys away from the kid for a week to solve the immediate problem.
8:42 p.m. – Connor E. Jensen, 29, was cited for driving while suspended, failure to carry proof of insurance, and for a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original DUII charge, Milton St.
9:08 p.m. – Valerie Palacios, 34, was cited for a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of assault IV, Elmore St.
10:08 p.m. – George Dunn was charged with resisting arrest, and criminal mischief related to a former report about damage to a garage and front door, Rose St.
10:37 p.m. – Single-vehicle crash involving cow reported at Lacomb Dr./Bellinger Scale Rd. According to Sheriff’s Office, Delaney West was driving her 2014 Ford Explorer when cow walked out into the road. She was not injured. Condition of the cow not indicated. Report taken.
11:12 p.m. – Joshua Joe Tallman, 32, was cited for criminal trespass II and for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation criminal trespass II, Walker St.
11:13 p.m. – Ryan Andrew Wilson, 34, was charged with interfering with a police officer, two counts of criminal mischief II, and disorderly conduct, Main St.
July 30
1:58 a.m. – Hali Ann Harris, 32, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation DUII.
7:54 a.m. – Jeremiah Kish Collman, 43, was cited for a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for theft I and criminal trespass II, and a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft II. Melannie Leanne Ader, 33, was cited for a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of hit and run.
11:23 a.m. – Caller reported theft of wheels and tires off a car in the driveway, Walker St.
11:34 a.m. – Report taken for dog at large, Cascade Dr. Caller reported the dog cornered him and tried to attack him.

9:30 a.m. – Seven Chromebooks with Lebanon school district stickers were found in a plastic Target shopping bag near the semi pullout parking area on Reeves Pkwy.
10:57 a.m. – Caller reported a barking dog in a parked vehicle with windows down a little bit, no water. Owner was counseled on providing minimum care for the dog. Outside temperature was 81 degrees.
11:43 a.m. – Caller reported approximately $340 worth of items stolen from property in 31000 block 5th St. during night. Two gas cans full of gas, one 5 gallon and one 1 gallon, were taken from back porch, and miscellaneous hand tools taken. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

12:12 a.m. – Report taken for an explosive, 5th St. Officer determined someone perhaps placed a fireworks mortar in a soup thermos, and it went off. A caller heard a loud boom, found burning paper at the scene near dumpsters, and smelled firework smoke.

9:06 a.m. – Michael James Vangundy, 45, was cited for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation theft II. He was delivered directly to the court.
9:31 a.m. – Caller reported a dog in a car for more than 1.5 hours. An officer let the dog out after finding the car parked in the sun with windows down less than an inch, no water or food in the car, the dog was panting, and the outdoor temperature was 81 degrees. The plates on the car were seized because they did not belong to the car. The dog’s owner, Christopher Coultas, was cited for animal neglect II, and for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for criminal trespassing II.

7:57 a.m. – Attempted theft from vehicle in 33000 block Wheeler Loop. According to Sheriff’s Office, a black 2013 Chevy Silverado was parked overnight. Someone had entered the unlocked truck and took boxes of ammunition, a sweatshirt and a check book. The unknown person dropped all of the items about 15 feet from the truck for some reason and took off. All items recovered. Report taken.

1:00 p.m. – Caller reported male released roughly 150 pigeons on private property in 30200 block Santiam Hwy., which did not belong to him. According to Sheriff’s Office, Sunknown person pulled onto Weyerhaeuser Santiam Mill property and released 150 pigeons from a trailer. Mill staff have huge issues with pigeons on the property, according to Sheriff’s Office, and they don’t want this to happen on their property. Deputies trying to track down who it was. Report taken.

6:05 p.m. – Motor vehicle crash reported at Denny School Rd./Oak St. According to Sheriff’s Office, Tim Wood, 32, of Lebanon, driving a 2008 Dodge pickup, was driving on Denny School Road behind Austin Ghere, 27, of Lebanon, in a 2005 Dodge pickup. Ghere, in the blue truck changed lanes into the left turn lane. Wood continued in the lane and Ghere quickly merged back into the travel lane, side-swiping Wood’s truck and causing “significant damage.” The drivers stopped and quickly exchanged information and Ghere left before deputies arrived. She said she was at a bench and went to the restroom and when she returned her bag was gone. They walked to the bench and found the bag right where she left it.

4:59 p.m. – James Cripe, 52, of Lebanon, cited and released for first-degree criminal trespass, 1700 block S. 7th St. According to Sheriff’s Office, Cripe was attempting to move into an old abandoned house. Someone saw him there and contacted the owner, who said no one was supposed to be on the property. When Cripe answered the door, he was cited. He packed and left.

7:54 a.m. – Caller reported theft of handicap parking placard, a Navy baseball cap, prescription medication and cash from his pickup while it was parked at Cheadle Lake Park during the pirate festival.

11:00 a.m. – David Blanchard, 50, of Veneta, cited for unsafe passing following two-vehicle, minor-injury crash at Waterloo/Berlin roads. According to Sheriff’s Office, Blanchard was attempting to pass two vehicles in front of him, which were driving slower. The first as a 1996 Kenworth dump truck driven by Nickolas Hutmacher, 59, of Albany. There was a second car behind the dump truck. Blanchard went to pass the two vehicles and the dump truck turned left in front of Blanchard. Blanchard crashed into the side of the dump truck, but was not injured. He followed the subject in his car and pinned him at a fence to confront him. The subject a flare at him, causing a cut between his eyes. Subject ditched bike, which was found to have been reported stolen, and took off in a vehicle.
