12:02 p.m. – Caller said a dog ran up to her car in the Safeway parking lot and pulled her own dog out of the car and pinned it to the ground. Dog was treated at vet’s office, small puncture wound found. Officer knows the other dog’s owner but does not think the injury is enough to declare the dog to be a danger.

11:52 a.m. – Two-vehicle crash reported in 40300 block Lacomb Dr. According to LCSO, Kathern Cupps, 50, of Lebanon was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler on Lacomb Drive when she approached a 1950 Ford pickup, operated by Carol White, 59 of Lebanon, who was driving slowly. Cupps said she went to pass and the Ford turned left into a driveway. Both vehicles were going less than 40 mph, and the damage was not severe, according to LCSO. No one was injured, and the Jeep was towed home on a trailer. The Ford was left at the house it pulled into. No citations issued. Report taken.

6:26 p.m. – Hit-and-run reported in area of Denny School Rd./Airport Dr. According to LCSO, the victim, who was not identified, was driving on Denny School Rd when they were passed by an older white two-door pickup. As the truck passed, an oncoming car approached and the truck swerved back into the victim’s lane, grazing the front bumper of their car as the truck came back over. There was very minimal damage and the victim was not reporting it to insurance. No further description of the truck as it continued to speed off.

9:14 p.m. – Michael Stidham, 35, of Lebanon and Joshua Webb, 46, of Lebanon, arrested for fourth-degree assault in 2100 block S. 7th St. According to LCSO, this started as a verbal argument between boyfriend and girlfriend. A male friend then stepped in and tried to stop the verbal argument. This turned into a physical punching match between the two males. Both males were arrested. Report taken.

4:06 p.m. – Danielle Miller, 33, of Lebanon, arrested for domestic assault, 40000 block McDowell Creek Dr. According to LCSO, argument escalated into fight in which Miller allegedly struck victim in the arm with a meat cleaver, causing physical injuries. 12:29 p.m. – Caller reported her husband died at the hospital and some of his clothing and wallet with cash are missing. The hospital said all items go to the funeral home, but the funeral home did not give her all items she believes her husband had.
12:58 p.m. – Subject said her dog fought with another dog and the dog’s owner put gun to her head and threatened her and her dog, 33100 block Tennessee Rd. Jim Watkins, 69, charged with unlawful use of a firearm, menacing and resisting.

7:44 p.m. – Jeremy Harris, 45, of Lebanon, arrested for unauthorized use of motor vehicle, warrant, Waterloo Rd./1st Street, Waterloo. Arrest followed traffic stop in which Harris was found to have a warrant. According to LCSO, during investigation, it was discovered the car was taken from a family member who did not give Harris permission to drive. Report taken.

11:27 a.m. – Caller reported a male had a gun on his bus seat. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
1:36 p.m. – Officer checked the area for transient camps, 3133 Burdell Blvd. Some people left when he arrived, and he told the others the city owns the property and wants them to leave. One individual said he’s not leaving because he lives there.

11:24 a.m. – Male got a call from someone saying they kidnapped his daughter and would cut her fingers off if he didn’t pay a ransom. Male could hear female screaming in background, but male was able to get ahold of his daughter, who was safe.

She said he killed one or two of her dogs in Salem, and abandoned two other dogs to her in Lebanon. Oregon State Police said they are investigating the boyfriend for animal abuse.

2:22 p.m. – Deputy responded to complaint regarding pig owned by tenant that reportedly was being allowed to run around in Cascade Mobile Park, in 5500 block Santiam Hwy. Deemed to be civil issue. Complaint was that pig gets out and has caused damage to someone’s trailer in the park.

8:06 p.m. – Crash reported at Hwy. 34/Denny School Rd. According to Sheriff’s Office, driver of 2025 Chrysler 200 stated an oncoming car had the bright lights on, causing him to crash. Also added he might have been trying to get the phone from his kids in the back seat and not watching the road. Car ran into the grass median, sustained minor damage. 7:26 p.m. – Crash reported in 700 block Central Ave. According to Sheriff’s Office, Drake Herb, 20, of Lebanon, was driving 1991 Toyota 4Runner. LCSO reported he told deputies he was driving too fast and lost control. Alcohol was a factor in the crash. Herb arrested for DUII, reckless driving. Report taken.
