Aug. 8

Five persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued two citations for driving while suspended, one for failure to carry proof of insurance, one for violation of the basic rule, one for failure to obey a traffic control device and one for driving uninsured.

12:40 a.m. – Caller reported that someone stole his girlfriend’s bank card, 1400 block of S. Main Street. Card recovered. Report taken. Under investigation.

3:32 a.m. – Three juveniles referred to Juvenile Department for curfew violation, third-degree theft and unlawful possession of a firearm, 500 N. 5th Street. One also referred for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and minor in possession of marijuana. One also referred for second-degree criminal mischief and minor in possession of tobacco, and one referred for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. Another juvenile referred for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, first-degree theft and third-degree theft, 500 N. 5th St., Pioneer School. Caller had reported six to eight juveniles behind the school. Investigation revealed multiple car prowls.

6:26 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of cans, 3200 block of Quail Place. Loss valued at $10. Caller had it on video but did not want to pursue charges. The caller just wanted the thief counseled.

10:04 p.m. – Sherry Annette Price, 55, arrested for first-degree criminal trespass, 300 block of Park Street. Caller had reported a female walking up to the caller’s porch and attempting to go into the caller’s house.

11:47 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a bicycle, 100 block of Jennings. Report taken.

Aug. 7

Two persons arrested on parole violation, contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for failure to obey a traffic control device and one for following too closely.

Two commercial thefts reported.

6:14 p.m. – Trent Killgo arrested on Linn County warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle, 200 block of Wassom Street. Transported to Linn County Jail.

Aug. 6

Police issued a citation for driving uninsured, two for using a cell phone, one for following too closely, three for speeding and one for no license.

Three persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

One commercial theft reported.

2:01 a.m. – Motorcyle eluded police at speeds of up to 110 mph, South Santiam Highway. Police terminated the pursuit due to high speeds and a citizen rider. Information passed on to Oregon State Police, Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Sweet Home Police Department.

7:37 a.m. – Caller reported a female forced entry and assaulted him, 38100 block of Lawrence Drive. Report taken.

8:03 a.m. – Caller reported graffiti using spray whipped cream and a ripped off gutter, 100 block of S. 8th Street. Report taken.

8:21 a.m. – Caller reported his vehicle had been egged, 2700 block of S. 12th Street. Information documented.

11:11 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered her garage and stole a $500 bicycle, 1700 block of Cascade Drive. Report taken.

11:41 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a package worth $12, 1200 block of S. Williams Street. Information documented.

11:57 a.m. – Leslie Gibson cited for trespassing, 925 Park St., Ralston Park.

3:21 p.m. – Jenny Biggs arrested for attempting to elude in a vehicle, possession of meth and two counts of burglary, 30900 block of Old Santiam Highway.

3:31 p.m. – Caller reported a hit and run, 1900 block of S. Main Street. Report taken.

9:33 p.m. – Leslie Gibson cited for first-degree criminal trespass, 1983 S. Main St., Safeway. Caller had reported the theft of beer and water. Unopened items returned.

Police issued a citation for driving while suspended, no insurance and failure to register vehicle.

9:58 p.m. – Stolen Dodge pickup recovered, 1100 block of Williams Street. Vehicle was reported stolen out of Lebanon.

2:55 p.m. – Caller reported vandalism to his vehicle, small dents to hood and cracked passenger mirror, 3100 block of S. Santiam Highway. Information documented.

4:09 p.m. – Brandon Tyler Gaither, 24, arrested for driving under the influence, 2400 block of S. Santiam Highway.

9:13 p.m. – Leslie Gibson cited for trespassing, 900 block of Park Street.

One commercial theft reported.

One person arrested for contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for driving uninsured and one for failure to update registration information.

7:28 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of two bicycles worth $900, 31200 block of 1st Street. Report taken.

8:59 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into a shed and the siding was torn of, 1800 block of S. 2nd Street. Information documented.

5:51 p.m. – Kody Michael Elmer, 23, arrested for second-degree theft, 3290 S. Santiam Hwy., Wal-Mart. Caller had reported the theft of a $112 chainsaw. The item had been pawned at Fast Cash. Transported to Linn County Jail.

6:11 p.m. Caller reported the theft of a 1997 Honda Accord, 2600 block of S. Santiam Highway. Vehicle recovered nearby.

Aug. 3

Police issued a citation for no license. 

7:35 a.m. – Caller reported a Dodge pickup missing, 2100 block of S. Santiam Highway. Vehicle located in Eugene.

9:43 a.m. – Caller reported she set her glasses on the counter at the Verizon store, 3110 S. Santiam Hwy. When she returned, they were gone. Under investigation.

12:10 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a fishing pole and scooter, 2700 block of River Road. Report taken.

6:21 p.m. – Leslie Gibson arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree theft, 1890 S. Main St., Appletree Restaurant.

9:19 p.m. – Roger Housing and Mary Cheyanne Riley, 33, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, 300 block of Russell Drive. Both cited and released. Caller had reported a male and female hitting each other.

10:03 p.m. – Leslie Gibson arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, S. 2nd and W. Elmore. Caller had reported a male walking in the middle of the roadway.

2:21 a.m. – Ashlen Ryan Gove, 31, arrested for driving under the influence, 1956 S. 2nd St. Cited and released.

6:06 a.m. – Caller reported that someone marked the driver’s window of a vehicle with a white X, 000 block of Grove Street. Report taken. Damage estimated at $100.

7:30 a.m. – Caller reported spray paint graffiti near the covered play area, 700 S. 10th St., Green Acres School. Report taken. Damage valued at $100.

7:41 a.m. – Caller reported a broken window and graffiti in the front of a building, 500 block of N. 5th Street. Report taken.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a purse from a shopping cart, 1983 S. Main St., Safeway. The purse contained $20, a debit card and Oregon Trail card. The debit card was canceled. Caller said she didn’t want the incident investigated. Information documented.

2:21 p.m. – Caller reported a broken window worth $250 to $300, 900 block of Park Street. Report taken.

2:24 p.m. – Caller reported multiple small fires were set, W. Grant and S. 5th. It appeared a flammable liquid was sprayed in the area. Report taken.

8:13 p.m. – Walter Daniel Smith, 43, arrested for resisting arrest and a Lane County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of driving under the influence, 500 block of Tangent Street. Two others arrested on warrants for contempt of court and probation violation. Smith transported to Linn County Jail.

9:27 p.m. – Leonid Samoylich arrested for second-degree criminal trespass, 000 block of N. 5th Street.

9:40 p.m. – Caller and witnesses reported that a male unsuccessfully attempted to ignite a grass fire near S. 5th and E. Grant.

11:36 p.m. – David Arthur Haynes, 36, arrested for driving under the influence and possession of meth, S. Williams and E. Vine. Cited and released.

Aug. 1

Four persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for speeding, one for driving while suspended and one failure to carry proof of insurance. 

12:38 a.m. – Wesley Alan House, 35, and Anna House cited for failure to supervise their children, 600 block of S. Main Street. Caller had reported four male teens were throwing rocks at businesses.

7:07 a.m. – Caller reported that someone used her email address in an attempt to obtain loans, 37400 block of Tennesse School Road. Report taken.

9 a.m. – Caller reported that someone kicked in a door, 100 block of N. 8th Street. Report taken.

11:51 a.m. – Rhonda Christine Reed, 57, arrested for driving under the influence. 2500 block of S. Santiam Highway.

12:33 p.m. – Caller reported that someone keyed the passenger side of a vehicle, 31100 block of 4th Street. Report taken.

12:35 p.m. – Caller reported that a sex crime may have occurred in Lebanon. Report taken.

2 p.m. – Caller reported tables behind Bigfoot Cave were spray painted during the night, 525 S. Main St. Report taken. Damage estimated at $450.

2:08 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into her vehicle and took a wallet and a Fire tablet, 500 block of Maple Street. Report taken.

3:26 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle struck a power pole and caught fire, 35400 block of Brewster Road. Driver and passenger got out of the vehicle. Both were transported to hospital to be treated for burns.

3:39 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of several totes and boxes of household and personal items from the back porch, 30800 block of Waterloo Road. Report taken.

4:03 p.m. – Caller reported someone took a TV from her apartment, 100 block of 7th Street. Report taken. Loss valued at $150.

5:28 p.m. – Robert Lee Hale, 30, arrested for driving under the influence and Lebanon warrants for failure to appear on a criminal citation and for contempt of court and probation violation, 1983 S. Main St., Safeway.

5:30 p.m. – Caller reported damage to fence posts, 200 block off Pine Street. Caller did not want complete a report.

8:20 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of his phone, 3290 S. Santiam Hwy, Wal-Mart. Report taken.

11:01 p.m. – Caller reported someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took a $2,100 engagement ring, 900 block of W. D Street. Report taken.

July 31

Five persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for driving while suspended and three for speeding.

12:58 a.m. – Pamela Dixon, 65, arrested for driving under the influence, 37700 block of 3rd Street.

6:56 a.m. – Caller reported a stolen vehicle, 100 block of W. Jadon Drive. Stolen vehicle was a 1995 black Honda Accord with plate number TZY 809. The hood was faded gray. A red “Parker Bone” bowling pennant was in the back window. Driver front quarter panel sticks out, and the steering column cowling was removed and damaged in a previous attempted theft. Loss valued at $900. Report taken.

7:23 a.m. – Deandre Morgan Ufford, 30, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended, S. 5th and W. Sherman.

9:19 a.m. – Caller reported a window partially broken in a room, 700 block of S. 10th Street. Report taken.

4:24 p.m. – Caller reported two bikes worth $700 stolen from a campsite at Waterloo Park. Report taken.

9:19 p.m. – Caller reported a small fire behind Bi-Mart, 2730 S. Main St. Callerr reported a group of five or six boys lit the fire and left on foot. A second caller also saw two boys start a fire andd then spray paint the back of the building. Report taken.

10:29 p.m. – A juvenile referred to Juvenile Department on four counts of second-degree criminal mischief, 11th and Sherman. A caller reported that someone broke out the driver’s window of a vehicle, 700 block of W. D Street. A second caller reported a group of four to five young teens broke out a window, 900 block of S. 9th. A third caller reported that three juveniles attempted to break into his house, and he detained one of them. Officer contacted three juveniles. A fourth victim had a broken window, 800 block of W. Oak Street.

11:32 p.m. – Caller reported at least four people went running from the school after breaking glass and spraying paint, 2163 S. 7th St., Cascades Elementary School. Report taken.

July 30

One person cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and one for speeding.

One person arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

3:43 a.m. – Jason Scott Sylvester, 43, arrested for criminal mischief, 3200 block of Oak Terrace Drive. Cited and released. Caller had reported a male throwing a rock at a neighbor’s window and the caller’s window, breaking both.

8:24 a.m. – Caller reported a stop sign stolen from a manufactured home complex, 2000 block of 12th Street. Information documented.

8:49 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered the caller’s vehicle during the night, 200 block of S. 12th Street. Taken were an ice chest worth $250. It was filled with beer, water and Gatorade. Also taken were sunglasses worth $200. Report taken.

9:11 a.m. – Caller reported that the fuel line in a lawnmower was cut, 200 block of S. 12th Street. Report taken.

9:51 a.m. – Caller reported a yard debris can stolen, 900 block of Antioch Street. Information documented.

3:59 p.m. – Caller reported $1,000 missing from his room, 600 block of N. 5th Street. Report taken for first-degree theft.

3:51 p.m. – Caller reported three juveniles were bullying a boy, took his glasses and broke them, 1400 block of E. Grant Street. Report taken for criminal mischief.

4:17 p.m. – Caller reported items stolen from her residence, 000 block of E. Carolina Street. Report taken.

7:58 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered a vehicle and took two packs of LED lights, 600 block of Vaughan Lane. Report taken.

8:06 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke three ground sprinkler heads, 1000 block of S. 10th Street. Information documented.

July 29

8:46 a.m. – Caller reported a stolen golf art, 30900 Pineway Drive, Pineway Golf Course. Loss valued at $8,000. Report taken.

12:27 p.m. – Caller reported that doorjamb had been broken, 200 block of Walker Road. Caller did not think anyone made entry into the building. Report taken.

12:52 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into a shed and took a fuel can, 1400 block of S. Grove Street. Report taken.

2:02 p.m. – Caller reported two vehicles with slashed tires, 900 block of W. D Street.

2:20 p.m. – Leslie Gibson cited for trespassing, 1235 E. Grant St., River Park.

4:15 p.m. – A juvenile was referred to Juvenile Department for fourth-degree assault, 1500 block of 7th Street. Caller had reported she was just assaulted but she did not need medical attention.

11:10 p.m. – Samantha Leann Stotz, 27, arrested on Marion County warrant for first-degree forgery, Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Marion County warrant for interfering with an officer and Linn County warrant for failure to appear, 1000 block of Mazama Avenue. Transported to Linn County Jail.

July 28

5:01 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered her vehicle and took a backpack, subwoofer, stereo and insurance card, 2200 block of S. Main Street. Report taken.

8:33 a.m. – Caller reported someone entered her vehicle and took an “OnStar” type device, 300 block of S. Main Street.

5:35 p.m. – Caller reported that a female got into a customer’s vehicle and took something, 3300 Burdell Blvd., Walgreens. Report taken.

July 27

Five persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued one citation for failure to obey traffic control device.

2:44 p.m. – Caller reported that a blonde female passed a fake $50 bill, 1100 block of S. Main Street. Officer contacted the female, who said she received from another person and had not idea it was fake. Officer unable to locate the other person. Bill seized. Report taken.

4:24 p.m. – Caller reported that his wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle, 600 block of Vaughan Lane.

5:26 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of his bicycle, 100 block of E. Grant Street. Report taken. Loss valued at $99.

8:50 p.m. – Caller reported a sex crime. Report taken.

July 26

Four persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for driving while suspended and one for driving uninsured.

2:26 a.m. – Gloriaanne Marie Budd, 44, arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment, 4100 block of Santiam Highway. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:28 a.m. – Caller reported a theft from a resident’s room, 100 block of C Street. Report taken.

11:22 a.m. – Caller reported that someone opened a credit card using her identity, 200 block of Cascade Drive. No money lost. Caller counseled on steps to protect her credit.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported that someone ransacked her vehicle and took her wallet, 300 block of F Street. The vehicle had been parked in the driveway with windows down. Report taken.

3:06 p.m. – Caller reported a possible fraud, 000 block of Wagon Wheel Drive. The caller’s husband recently died. Prior to passing, he had given his bank account number and access codes to some friends who needed money. According to the caller, they were told to remove a certain amount of money. The friends removed more than they were supposed to and now the account is in default. The sister of a friend had been contacting the caller trying to get more money from her, but the caller refused. The female also had been trying to get the caller to send her money in the form of Amazon gift cards. The female threatened to turn the caller in to ICE if she didn’t pay. The caller said she is a legal citizen. Officer counseled the caller, who will cease contact with the friends and the female. She shut down the bank account and was advised to watch her account for any suspicious activity.

2:59 p.m. – Caller reported he found his stolen bicycle at Wal-Mart, 3290 S. Santiam Hwy. He got into a physical altercation with the male who had it. The male then left with the bike. The caller was not injured. The caller showed the officer a photo of the male who had the bike.

3:44 p.m. – Caller reported a large bag of cans was taken from his backyard, 100 block of Wheeler Street. Information documented.

7:06 p.m. – Caller reported broken windows and graffiti, 500 N. 5th Street. Damage more than $1,000. Report taken.

9:30 p.m. – Caller found video footage of five juveniles jumping on top of several cars at 910 S. Main St., Top Line Auto. Report taken for criminal mischief.

July 25

Police issued one citation for violation of the basic rule. 

Two persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

3:28 a.m. – Fire District responded to a small fire, E. Grant and S. Main. A Sugar Vibes staff member had put out the fire, which someone had started in a trash can. Report taken.

8:33 p.m. – Caller reported that it appeared someone broke into his apartment but nothing appeared to be taken, 300 block of S. Main Street.

9:36 p.m. – Caller reported several cedar trees with broken branches and graffiti on the power station, 1300 block of 4th Street. Report taken.

July 24

Three persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued eight citations for speeding, one for failure to obey a traffic control device, one for driving while suspended, one for allowing unlawful operation of a vehicle and one for using a cell phone.

One commercial theft reported.

1:07 a.m. – Caller reported her son was hit by a vehicle while he was walking, which left the scene, S. 10th and Walker. Report taken. Caller took victim to the hospital in Albany. Report taken. The vehicle was described as a newer black or blue car with a female driver who had long hair.

7:41 a.m. – Paul Allen Conklin, 28, arrested on Linn County warrant for possession of meth and possession of a restricted weapon, Linn County warrant for failure to appear and two Albany warrants for failure to appear, 3290 S. Main St., Wal-Mart. Caller had reported the theft of clothing items.

10:58 a.m. – Case pulled for a sex crime.

12:57 p.m. – Caller reported that someone dented the hood of his vehicle, 600 block of N. 5th Street. Report taken.

3:06 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle hit a cart, smashing the cart into another vehicle, 1983 S. Main St., Safeway. Damage was minor, and the owner was not very concerned. Information documented.

7:59 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of her purse from a shopping cart, 3290 S. Main St., Wal-Mart. Report taken. Contents included jewelry, and loss valued at more than $10,000.

July 23

Police issued eight citations for speeding, two for driving while suspended, one for no license, one for driving uninsured, one for failure to carry registration, one for failure to wear a seatbelt and one for driving uninsured.

Two persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

2:02 a.m. – Caller reported a male was looking into cars and he shined a light into one of the caller’s bedroom windows, 100 block of N. 2nd Street. Officer located the subject on Mary Street near 3rd Street. The subject said he was looking for his wife, who was supposed to be in some trailer around Olive Street. He was advised to go home.

7:19 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of two batteries from his shop on 4th Street.

11:44 a.m. – Callerr reported two males using a metal object to try to open the window of an SUV, 3290 S. Main St., Wal-Mart. Officer contacted a male subject, who advised that a dog had hit the door lock with the keys still in the vehicle. The subject had already called a locksmith.

4:04 p.m. – Caller reported a female subject went her house and hit the caller’s roommate’s door with a bat and then went outside and hit the caller’s car, 1500 block of 7th Street. Report taken.

July 22

Two persons arrested for contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for failure to obey a traffic control device.

One commercial theft reported.

3:01 a.m. – Caller reported that two juveniles damaged tents at location then fled and drove away, 3601 S. Santiam Hwy., Cheadle Lake. Damage estimated at $60. Information documented.

11:37 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of his backpack, which contained $200 in marijuana, related items and $26 in cash, 1000 block of S. Grove Street. Report taken.

12:40 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of three batteries, 2700 block of S. Main Road. A semi was damaged where suspects tried to pry open a battery pack.

6:01 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a bicycle, 42 Market Street.

July 21

Police issued one citation for using a cell phone and one for failure to signal within 100 feet.

Four persons arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

One commercial theft reported.

8:23 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of $200 worth of items from a mailbox, 38800 block of Christopher Way.

6:50 p.m. – Caller reported a window broken on the west side of Seven Oak Middle School, 550 Cascade Drive.

7:43 p.m. – Caller reported two windows were shattered, 400 block of C Street. It looked like someone doing a cookie in the gravel parking lot caused rocks to spray up and break the windows. Damage estimated at $300. Report taken.

9:29 p.m. – Caller reported that three males at and left without paying, 50 W. Oak St., Mama’s Fine Italian. Loss valued at $39. Report taken.

July 20

One person arrested on contempt of court and probation violation warrants.

Police issued a citation for driving while suspended.

10:16 a.m. – Caller reported receiving a call from Umpqua Bank’s corporate office and someone had allegedly opened a new account with his information, 700 block of Park Street. The bank’s fraud department Is investigating.

5:57 p.m. – Caller reported that the caller’s vehicle was hit while parked at Safeway, 1983 S. Main Street. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a motor home or truck-type vehicle pulling a race car with #88 painted on it. The crash caused minor scrape damage to the rear right bumper. Information documented.

6:23 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a cell phone, 600 block of N. 5th Street. Report taken. Loss valued at $300.

10:40 p.m. – Caller reported two males fighting, breaking bottles, with their bicycles in the roadway, 1200 block of E. Grant Street. When they heard sirens, the subjects hugged and fled the area. Officer unable to locate.

11:37 p.m. – Matthew James Frasure, 48, arrested for second-degree criminal mischief, 700 block of E Street. Caller had reported a male threatening people, slashing tires and smashing windows in a vehicle.

July 19

Police issued two citations for driving while suspended, one for speeding, one for improper display, one for no license, one for failure to obey traffic control device, one for failure to carry proof of insurance and one for driving uninsured.

1:56 a.m. – Caller reported a male yelling and spray painting the sidewalk across from 7-11, 1400 block of S. Main Street. Male was last seen heading down Jennings. Report taken.

2:02 a.m. – Caller reported jewelry stolen, 31300 block of S. Main Road. Report taken.

2:52 a.m. – Caller reported a “Tangent” street sign in the roadway, Tangent and Hansard. The sign was actually for Tangent and 9th. The pole was there but flattened. Report taken for hit and run. Information sent to Public Works.

3:41 p.m. – Caller reported a stolen bike, 31200 block of 1st Street. Report taken.

4:13 a.m. – Angela Lynn Laderlich, 38, cited for criminal trespass, 1400 block of S. Main Street.

11:53 a.m. – Caller reported a dumpster at Bigfoot Bites had been spray painted and a mop and broom handle broken, 1100 block of S. Main Street. Information documented.

3:01 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle during the night and took a GPS unit, camera and paperwork, 700 block of Airway Road. Caller just wanted the information documented and did not have detailed information about the items that were stolen.

3:55 p.m. – Caller reported that sometime in the previous two weeks someone missed the stop sign at Airport and Stoltz Hill, ran into his fence and knocked it down. Caller wanted information documented and a records check of crashes at the location in the past two weeks. Damage estimated at $750.

8:39 p.m. – Melanie Ann Stephens, 50, arrested for driving under the influence and cited for driving while suspended, 3290 S. Main St., Wal-Mart. 10:46 p.m. – William Joseph Labell, 59, arrested on Linn County warrant for driving under the influence, Wheeler and Eaton. Cited and released.

July 17

Police issued a citation for failure to yield right of way when entering a roadway and one for following too closely.

10:54 a.m. – Caller reported her vehicle had been hit by someone five days earlier, 1950 S. Main St., Mega Foods. Caller needed to make a report for her insurance company. Case number issued for insurance purposes.

6:05 a.m. – Caller reported his tires were slashed, 700 block of S. Main Street. Damage estimated at $800. Three tires slashed on two vehicles. Report taken.

1:15 p.m. – Caller found two bicycles that had been stolen from the 300 block of Lydia Lane during the night. Returned to owner.

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported damage to a gate, 100 block of W. Airport Road. Report taken for vandalism. Damage estimated at $60.

11:20 a.m. – Caller reported a male assaulted a female in her residence and then used a weapon to keep her at bay while he stole her vehicle, 800 block of Wassom Street. Report taken for robbery, felony fourth-degree assault and menacing.

8:08 p.m. – Caller reported two kids breaking into a vacant house, 400 block of W. Rose Street. Caller saw one of them throw a small piece of wood through a window. Caller said he asked them what they were doing. Juvenile said, “kicking in the door.” The juveniles admitted being in the house but denied throwing wood through a window. Officer contacted parents and gave juveniles a ride home. Report taken.

9:43 p.m. – Raymond Lee Mentzer, 32, cited and released in field for third-degree theft, 1983 S. Main St., Safeway. Caller had observed a subject walk out the doors with a basket of food worth $40. Items recovered.

July 14

Police issued two citations for speeding and one for camping in the city limits. 

10:57 a.m. – Dak Christian Graham Miller, 22, arrested on Polk County warrant for driving under the influence, 1800 block of S. 9th St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11:26 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into an RV, 4500 block of Weirich Drive. Caller believed someone may have entered several others. Report taken.

2:53 p.m. – Caller reported her husband and a male got into a fight, 700 block of F Street. When the victim began counseling the suspect about throwing tires away in an apartment dumpster, the suspect started mouthing off, threw juice on the victim and tried to punch him three times, connecting once. Report taken for harassment.

9:34 p.m. – Caller reported a kid breaking out a window in a building, 500 block of N 5th St. Report taken.

July 13

Police issued a citation for failure to maintain lane, one for driving 100 mph, two for failure to obey a traffic control device, one for using a cell phone, one for violation of the basic rule, one for speeding, three for driving while suspended, one for no license, one for failure to carry proof of insurance and one for failure to renew vehicle registration.

8:07 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his vehicle during the night and took several custom drones, a controller, a headset, batteries, a GoPro, a gym bag and gym key, worth a total of about $3,700, 800 block of W. Ash Street. Report taken.

9:42 a.m. – Caller reported a possible computer repair scam via the internet, 3200 block of Foxglove Street. The caller said that back in February she paid $350 to have an Internet service clean up her computer. She could not articulate what service she received or what changes were made to the computer because, she said, she is not computer savvy. The caller said a female called her today and told her to go to the store, buy YouTube money cards and send them to her, and then the female said she would unlock the caller’s computer. The female told the caller she wasn’t abiding by the contract, and that’s why she locked the computer. The caller did not purchase the YouTube cards. Officer unable to determine if a crime occurred in February, but no crime was committed today. The caller was not out any money today. The officer suggested having a professional look at her computer.

10:22 a.m. – Caller reported sending $14,060 in three transactions to people who said she won a sweepstakes, 800 block of Sugarberry Lane. One of the scammers sent her a magazine with $7,000 in $50 bills and had her send it to another address. Report taken for theft by deception.

4:52 p.m. – Caller reported a hit and run, 600 block of S. Main Street. Caller said her vehicle was hit while she was stopped in the left lane before Sherman Street. The other driver had no ID or paperwork for the truck. The truck had no plates. The female wouldn’t provide information. Report taken.

5:04 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a seat and a bar from a bicycle, 1900 block of S. 2nd Street. Report taken.

9:54 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle swerving side to side at various speeds, Highway 34 and Denny School Road. Driver warned for defective taillight. The driver was part of the Gambler 500 and had loose steering.

9:55 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle moving at erratic speeds and flashing a yellow caution light with a siren when passing vehicles. Officer stopped vehicle at Main and Rose. Vehicle was part of the Gambler 500. Officer counseled the driver on the lights and sirens.

July 12

Four persons arrested on contempt of court warrants.

Police issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt and two for using a cell phone.

One commercial theft reported.

4:02 p.m. – Julianne Nicole Phillips, 24, arrested on two Linn County warrants for possession of meth and a Linn County warrant for failure to appear.

4:39 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a credit card a month earlier, 600 block off W. Oak Street. Report taken.

6:36 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a phone with a license and three credit cards the previous night, 1800 block of S. Main Street. Report taken. Phone valued at $400.

8:28 p.m. – Caller reported a male walking around the apartment complex with what appeared to be a gun, 42 Market St. A second callerr reported that a male pointed an Airsoft gun at the caller. Report taken for second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing.

11:05 p.m. – Caller reported that a subject threw a rock at a window, 1400 block of S. Main Street. The window did not break, but a police officer found a second rock in the parking lot and a damaged rear taillight. Report taken.
