Lebanon Fire District crews responded Saturday morning to a reported car fire in the Rife’s Home Furniture parking lot, at 1950 S. Main St. Firefighters battling the blaze had to run a hose across Airport Road, which blocked traffic. Lebanon police provided traffic control to keep vehicles from running over the hose. A man walking through the parking lot told the incident commander that someone had just left the motorhome prior to fire and that he believed that there may be a dog inside. Crews did a primary search of the motorhome after the blaze was under control and found the vehicle vacated. Crews were on scene about one hour extinguishing hot spots and cleaning debris from around motorhome. No injuries were reported to either fire crews or civilians, the LFD said. LFD would like to remind all people, that when you see fire hose across a street not to run it over. Running over fire hose not only damages the hose, but could possibly cut off vital water supply to crews inside or outside a structure putting them at risk for injury. The cause of the blaze is under investigation and anyone with information can call (541) 451-6128. LFD responded with a total of 10 fire personnel — four on Truck 31, three on Engine 34, two on Reserve Medic 31 and a chief officer. The cause of the blaze is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call (541) 451-6128.
