The Santiam Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund, established after the 400,000-acre-plus conflagration that destroyed 1,500 structures in Linn, Jefferson, Marion and Clackamas counties during the summer of 2020, has received $245,000 from the Community Rebuilding Fund.
The group, a joint effort led by the Oregon Community Foundation in partnership with American Red Cross, the Meyer Memorial Trust and The Ford Family Foundation, announced nearly $1.46 million total in grants to support seven nonprofits assisting Oregon communities following the fires.
These grants were made possible through American Red Cross funding.
Other recipients include Unite Oregon ($250,000); Echo Mountain Fire Relief, Remake Talent and Glide Revitalization ($240,000); McKenzie Valley Long Term Recovery Group ($200,000) and the United Way of Lane County ($40,000).
