A minor crash occurred at the intersection of 12th Street and West Oak Street at around 2 p.m. on May 19. A collision took place and police briefly blocked the road to allow for investigation and cleanup.
According to police, despite a Fire Medic Unit being present on-site, no one was injured. At least one of the vehicles involved was able to drive away.
A bystander and neighbor stated that collisions are common at this intersection as drivers on 12th Street often do not come to a full stop despite the presence of a stop sign. Per the Oregon Driver’s Manual, drivers are required to stop before the marked stop line, crosswalk or unmarked crossing area prior to entering the intersection.
