Lebanon Community School District and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam joined forces to offer their second annual “Sources of Strength Wellness Fair” from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at the Boys & Girls Club, 305 S. 5th St. Admission is free.
The event is based on a Sources of Strength model promoting the empowerment of people “to identify and use their own strengths to build resilience and hope,” said Sandi Cox, a licensed marriage and family therapist.
Nearly 100 organizers were invited to provide information in a family-fun, entertaining event to promote holistic health, which considers the whole person: body, mind, emotions, finances and spirituality. There will be guest speakers and representatives from local agencies, and organizations will be on-hand to give out pamphlets.
A kid zone with bounce houses and activities will also be available to keep the younger guests busy, and food (hot dogs, snow cones, ice cream) will be provided.
LCSD Family Liaison Julie Miller said she wants guests to “leave with smiles, full bellies and some swag, but mostly with hope and information to help them in all aspects of their lives.”
