The City of Lebanon will be opening the Lebanon Senior Center as a cooling center for the senior population (ages 50 and over) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10.
The move comes as a response to the US National Weather Service’s forecast of excessive heat warnings and weather conditions that may result in extreme fire danger in areas of Linn County. Consumers Power and Pacific Power are taking precautionary measures and have notified some of their customers they could lose power.
The Senior Center will have transportation to and from the center within the Lebanon area during the cooling center time frames. Seniors ma call LINX Transit at 541-258-4920 to arrange for a ride at no cost.
Staff at the Senior Center regret to announce there are no accommodations for pets, with the exception of service animals.
