The City of Lebanon has opened the Lebanon Senior Center, at 80 Tangent St., as a cooling center, geared toward the senior population (ages 50 and over). It will be open today through Friday, Aug. 11-13, from 8 a.m. through 7 p.m.
The U.S. National Weather Service has issued excessive heat warnings for many parts of Oregon through Friday, Aug. 13.
The city will also have transportation to and from the center, within the Lebanon area, during those same timeframes. Contact LINX Transit at (541) 258-4920, to arrange for a ride, at no cost.
No accommodations are available for pets, with the exception of service animals.
