Strawberry Festival postponed to July with Star Spangled Celebration

The Lebanon Strawberry Festival board announced they will postpone the 111th Annual “Roaring Twenties” festival until Thursday, July 2, through Sunday, July 5, combining it with the Star Spangled Celebration on July 4.

The announcement comes following discussions with the community and Homeland Security due to conditions caused by COVID-19.

“Although we are disappointed that the traditional weekend for the festival is not ideal for this year under the current circumstances, we are passionate about providing an opportunity for the community to come together, to heal and celebrate in July,” said Cindy Kerby, 2020 Lebanon Strawberry Festival chairperson.

The festival will have additional hand-washing stations and sanitary plans in place to keep the community safe after the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Updates will be posted frequently on the festival Facebook page and website.

The combined Strawberry Festival and Star Spangled celebrations will include the biggest fireworks show in the Willamette Valley on July 4, following a performance by American country music artist James Otto.

The traditional Lebanon Strawberry Festival will include:
• All Heroes Day, presented by CoEnergy Propane

• Fireworks show, presented by Pacific Power and Energy Trust of Oregon
• Junior parade
• Crowning of the Lebanon Strawberry Festival’s royal queen
• Strawberry run/walk, presented by Weyerhaeuser
• The festival’s grand parade, presented by Entek. The theme is “The Roaring Strawberries”, with patriotic flare.
• World’s largest strawberry shortcake, presented by Primasing Motors
• American country music artist James Otto performing on the Main Stage on Saturday, presented by Toyota
• Main stage entertainment, Thursday and Friday
• Willamette valley’s largest 4th of July fireworks show
• Rainier Amusements, Thursday through Sunday. Carnival tickets will go on sale June 1.
• Bigger parking area for viewing the fireworks

Festival open times start Thursday at 4 p.m., Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at 12 noon.
