Sweet Home circuit court and police logs Dec. 5-11, 2022

Kayla Lynn Buster, 33, was sentenced Dec. 2 to 240 hours jail, 24 months supervised probation and a $200 fine based on a guilty plea of first-degree theft.

A first-degree assault charge against Jesse James Calvin Johnson, 19, was dismissed Nov. 29 due to the defendant likely never gaining the capacity to aid and assist counsel or stand trial. He was committed based on having an intellectual or developmental disability. Johnson was accused of causing serious injury to an elderly Eugene man after striking him while driving a truck.

Dec. 5

6:15 a.m. – Caller reported seeing a male walking in the area carrying a chainsaw and a bag, 800 block of 18th Ave. Andrew Edwin Amundson, 33, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass and a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of first-degree criminal mischief.

8:21 a.m. – Caller reported finding a backpack with drug paraphernalia, Oak Heights Elementary School, 605 Elm St. Officer responded, items seized.

9:59 a.m. – Caller reported items taken from her residence within the previous three days, 1400 block of 2nd Ave. Report taken for second-degree theft and first-degree burglary.

2:25 p.m. – Disturbance reported in the 800 block of 43rd Ave. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 78-year-old female was being screamed at by her 60-year-old daughter “who would not stop.” Mother slapped the daughter one time on the ear, which stopped the verbal altercation. No one wanted to press criminal charges.

8:10 p.m. – Caller reported a cougar-sighting in the 42200 block of Ames Creek Road.

Dec. 6

12:09 a.m. – Katherine Ann Belcher, 49, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal conspiracy, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

4:13 a.m. – Nickolas Ryan Shoulders, 33, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

10:44 a.m. – Caller reported someone running over her mailbox the previous evening, 3200 block of Main St. Report taken for hit-and-run. Approximate value: $200.

11:26 a.m. – Caller reported a camp trailer that “looked like trash” in the 48600 block of Quartzville Road. Deputy was familiar with the trailer and knew someone was living inside. When the deputy checked Quartzville between milepost 25 to Highway 20, the trailer was gone.

12:56 p.m. – Caller reported tools missing from the 47300 block of Hwy. 20.

6:07 p.m. – Johnny Lee Stone, 30, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of resisting arrest, 1950 Main St.

6:56 p.m. – Christopher Michael Lindner was cited for driving uninsured, 3100 block of Main St.

11:47 p.m. – Bryce William McGowan, 39, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal driving, Lebanon Police Department.

Dec. 7

12:12 a.m. – Richard Dean Raisor, 46, was cited for driving with a suspended license, 2900 block of Main St.

3:58 a.m. – Amy Leigh Barnes, 32, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, 300 block of Holley Road.

4:35 a.m. – Lawrence Lee Jones, 25, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Albany Police Department.

4:38 a.m. – Benjamin Philip Hyatt, 43, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

12:06 p.m. – Thomas Allen Takett, 66, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Eugene Police Department.

3:50 p.m. – Timothy Dean Morgan, 21, was arrested on an unentered Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of animal abandonment, Lebanon Police Department.

4:18 p.m. – Caller reported a female and two males stealing items, 1500 block of Main St. Andrew Gerald Windom, 48, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for second degree theft. Cassidy Leigh Sullivan, 30, was cited and released for third degree theft.

5:20 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a power tool from her shed, 1400 block of 13th Ave. Report taken for second-degree theft.

9:38 p.m. – Caller reported a woman in a sedan hitting and totaling a parked pickup truck, 1900 block of Long St. Report taken.

Dec. 8

2:49 a.m. – Caller reported that a bullet had struck residence, 28900 block of Berlin Road. The bullet’s point of origin was unknown at the time. Report taken.

4:32 a.m. – Deputy attempted contact with male walking in the 28000 block of Pleasant Valley Road. Male stated he was on his way to work.

6:03 a.m. – Caller reported break-ins with two of her vehicles, 800 block of 1st Ave. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and first-degree theft. Approximate loss of value: $2,700.

8:11 a.m. – Caller reported entry into two vehicles, 1000 block of Vista Lane. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft. Approximate loss of value: $200.

8:23 a.m. – Caller reported a stolen rug, Angila Tack Food Services & Supper Club, 1266 15th Ave. Report taken. Approximate loss of value: $300.

8:51 a.m. – Caller reported an illegal camp and parking on Cascade Timber Consulting property in the 44700 block of Hwy. 20. Vehicle moved prior to being towed.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported entry into and items taken from two vehicles at his residence, 130 block of 8th Ave. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft. Approximate loss of value: $950.

3:17 p.m. – Courtney Harper, 32, was cited for speeding, 28100 block Hwy. 20.

4:54 p.m. – Caller reported someone purchasing a car in his name, 6200 block of Main St. Report taken for identity theft, second-degree forgery and first-degree aggravated theft.

Dec. 9

2:01 a.m. – Caller reported being robbed at gunpoint, 1200 block of Long St. Report taken; investigation continuing.

9:58 a.m. – Caller reported a female had transferred money from a shared account into her own, 1800 block of Main St. Report taken. Approximate loss of value: $5,900.

11:02 a.m. – Caller reported a female taking money from her account, 1000 block of Main St. Report taken for second degree theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. Approximate loss of value: $100.

2:28 p.m. – Caller reported entry into and items taken from a vehicle, 900 block of Birch St. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and first-degree theft. Approximate loss of value: $3,300.

4:02 p.m. – Caller reported that his vehicle was taken within the previous 30 minutes, 3100 block of Main St. Information noted. Caller did not have proof of ownership.

4:43 p.m. – Randy James Scott, 57, was arrested for first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, unlawful use of a weapon, harassment, menacing, and being a felon in possession of a weapon, 4900 block of Mimosa Circle. Arrested on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft.

5:20 p.m. – Citizen reported an unknown item breaking a vehicle’s window, 43000 block of North River Drive. Caller said that he was driving on Pleasant Valley when something hit his driver’s side mirror and window. He got out and noticed dirt on it but he did not see anything or anybody. He believes someone may have thrown something. Vehicle was a white 1996 Chevy Pickup. Deputies checked the area and found no indication of vehicle going by or person in the area.

7:53 p.m. – Caller reported a motorcycle, chain hoist and wheelbarrow stolen from the 27200 block of High Deck Road, Cascadia. Motorcycle described as white 1976 Yamaha XT500 with black seat. Value estimated at $4,000. Report taken.

8:33 p.m. – Randy Scott, 57, of Sweet Home, was arrested for first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, use of a firearm, menacing, felon in possession of a firearm and harassment, 1900 block of Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken.

Dec. 10

1:18 a.m. – Caller reported a male stealing alcohol and leaving on foot, 7-Eleven, 2405 Main St. Report taken for third-degree theft. Approximate value: $46.

3:03 a.m. – Bradley Hilburn, 21, arrested for menacing-domestic violence after a report of a disturbance in the 28700 block of Liberty Road. According to Sheriff’s Office, Hilburn was intoxicated and causing disturbance. at location. Transported to Linn County Jail, where he spent the remainder of the night. Report taken.

3:29 a.m. – Joshua Martin Hughes, 20, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of reckless driving, Albany Police Department.

3:57 a.m. – An officer found drugs while on foot patrol at Northside Park, 1780 11th Ave. Property seized for destruction.

11:31 a.m. – Caller reported a male throwing a hammer at his truck, 9th Ave./Nandina St. Stephen Edward Ormsby, 55, was cited and released for second-degree criminal mischief.

12:23 p.m. – Joshua Wayne Welch, 33, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of providing false information to police, Oregon State Police.

1:40 p.m. – Tye Daniel King, 41, was arrested on an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for probation violation, 22nd Ave./Mountain View Road.

1:52 p.m. – Caller reported a fight with mention of a knife and hammer, 1100 block of 12th Ave. Jonathon Warren Underwood, 29, was cited and released for second-degree disorderly conduct.

4:01 p.m. – Ryan Dale Magee, 45, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of theft of services and second-degree disorderly conduct, Deschutes County.

11:19 p.m. – Male fled from an officer on foot, 15th Ave./Main St. Report taken for third-degree escape. Abandoned bag seized.

Dec. 11

12:47 a.m. – Jake James Sorrell, 26, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree burglary and second-degree theft, Hilltop Market, 4824 Main St.

12:56 a.m. – Natasha Sue Funk, 43, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

2:12 a.m. – David Arroyo-Sandoval, 42, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of fourth-degree assault, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

4:19 a.m. – Sterling Daniel Sherburn, 22, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

5:20 a.m. – Caller reported an ex breaking into her residence and choking her, 1000 block of13th Ave. The caller was able to leave, and male was no longer at the location. Report taken for first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, domestic violence-strangulation and menacing. Caller would be staying with a friend. An officer checked the area but could not find the suspect.

8:02 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dogs repeatedly escaping and destroying items on a property, 2200 block of Ironwood St. Jennifer Lynn Clark, 48, was cited for dog at large.

9:10 a.m. – Officer located a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run, 100 block of W. Holley Road. The vehicle was towed as a hazard.

5:01 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of menacing from a citizen who visited the Sweet Home Police Department. Investigation under way. 1900 block of Main St.
