Sweet Home police and court updates May 22-26, 2023

Circuit Court

Warrants are out on the following individuals: Calvin Alvin Ames, Samuel Frank Ayers, Curtis Ray Daniel, Shenese Danielle Cobain, Ashlee Dee Flanagan, Aaron Thomas Halvorson, Isaac Booker Justham, Noe Hernandez-Reyes, Michael Trevor Hilton, Ariel Shanea Kaping, Faron Walter Kennedy, Andrew Donald LeGore, Carrie Lynne Miller, Kendra Lynne Montoya, Larry Robert Morgan, Julianne Nicole Phillips, Joseph Clayton Pritchett, Christopher Thomas Reed, Tammy Lavonn Robinson, Paul Levi Shelton, Paula Marie Lea Skyles-Lutzi, Corey Alan Smith, Zachary Shane Stegner and Cameron Michael Wark.

Christian Scott Barger, 25, was charged May 22 with first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree theft and third-degree robbery.

Timothy Ray Geil, 62, was sentenced May 26 to 30 days jail, a one-year driver’s license suspension, 36 months bench probation and $2,355 in fines based on a guilty plea to charges of DUII and fourth-degree assault. Charges of reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person were dismissed.

Justin James Patton, 24, was charged May 15 with DUII and reckless driving.

In four separate cases, the court sentenced Michael Allen Perry Jr., 35, on May 16 to the following: revocation of a driver’s license for one year, 10 days jail, 20 months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections, placement in a drug or alcohol treatment program, 12 months post-prison supervision, and a $200 fine based on a plea of guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and failure to appear; revocation of a driver’s license for one year, 20 (concurrent) months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 12 months supervised probation based on a plea of guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle. A charge of possession of a stolen vehicle was dismissed; revocation of a driver’s license for one year, 20 months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 12 months supervised probation based on a plea of no contest to unauthorized use of a vehicle. A charge of possession of a stolen vehicle was dismissed; and 20 (concurrent) months with the Oregon Dept. of Corrections and 24 months post-prison supervision based on a plea of guilty to two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.

Colton Robert Michael Rictor, 21, was charged May 25 with first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree burglary and first-degree theft for allegations involving the destruction of a glass door at Yuvi’s Mart in Lebanon and theft of more than $1,000 worth of cigarettes. Bail was set at $10,000.

Katie Babette Turner, 29, was placed May 17 in the DUII diversion program after pleading no contest to driving with a .09% BAC. A May 11 reckless driving charge was dismissed.

May 22

2:51 a.m. – Peter Robert Piazza, 39, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree animal neglect, Albany Police Department.

11:04 a.m. – Kenneth Michael Kelley, 38, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Oregon Department of Corrections.

12:54 p.m. – Jordan Harrold, 21, was arrested for first-degree encouraging sex abuse and trafficking, Linn County Circuit Court.

3:09 p.m. – Dallas Andrew Samson, 40, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Muni- cipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1950 Main St.

4:11 p.m. – Caller reported that a male had broken some of her fence posts, 2200 block of Nandina St. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief. Investigation continuing.

May 23

1:12 a.m. – Joshua Martin Hughes, 21, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of carrying a concealed weapon and driving with a suspended license misdemeanor, 12th Ave./Main St.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported that his daughter was still being harassed by another student at Sweet Home Junior High School, 880 22nd Ave. The caller said that her tooth was chipped after a rock was thrown at her face. Investigation continuing.

2:35 p.m. – Jack Vance Townsend Jr., 56, was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless endangering, 1950 Main St.

2:39 p.m. – Jeffrey Scott Rowe, 53, was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass, 1200 block of 23rd Ave.

3:32 p.m. – Darrell Gene Mullenix, 48, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for second-degree criminal trespass and on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Dollar Tree, 2414 Main St.

5:05 p.m. – Deputy patrolling Foster Lake area found an illegal camp in the 6100 block of Hwy. 20.

5:08 p.m. – Camper in the 43300 block of North River Drive was warned that she would be arrested for trespass if she were still at that location the following day. She told the deputy that she’d planned to be gone by then.

6:15 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor playing loud music, 900 block of Long St. Lavern Durwood Bailey was cited for a city noise-ordinance violation.

9:17 p.m. – Bryce William McGowan, 39, was cited and released for second-degree criminal mischief, 2200 block of Nandina St.

11:59 p.m. – Joshua Wayne Welch, 34, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft, Thriftway, 621 Main St. Arrested on Linn County Sheriff’s Office Supervisory Authority warrant for failure to appear on a second-degree original charge and on a Lebanon Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on an original second-degree charge.

May 24

6:29 p.m. – Theodore Shinall, 45, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on contempt of court warrants out of Linn County Circuit and Lebanon Justice courts. Also cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured. A passenger in Shinall’s vehicle, Sara Kennedy, 39, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on Lebanon Justice Court warrant. 50900 block of Hwy. 20. Report taken.

8:23 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of an assault at Sunnyside Park. According to Sheriff’s Office, this was a alcohol-driven altercation between about three or four individuals, which started as an argument over on person hitting on another’s wife. It became heated and a few punches were thrown. After it cooled down and everyone went their ways, they later ran into each other again and threw another few punches. Based on the witness statements there was punches thrown from multiple people on all sides. The report was sent to the District Attorney to determine if any charges are warranted. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

8:58 p.m. – Deputy responded to a report of an injury crash, 45300 block of Sunnyside Road. According to Sheriff’s Office, Kayden Stuhr, 21, of Lebanon, was driving a 1990 Bounder motor home when the brakes gave out and it started rolling downhill. Stuhr tried steering it with the road, but was going too fast and it rolled onto its side. No citations. AA Towing removed the motorhome from the road. Two occupants were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Report taken.

May 25

3:07 a.m. – Clarence David Lee Vogel, 22, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of third degree theft X4, downtown.

9:32 a.m. – Deputy patrolling Green Peter/Bald Peter area reported heavy snow drifts about half a mile from top of GP600.

9:39 a.m. – William David Salyers, 20, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of reckless burning, Lebanon Police Department.

12:35 p.m. – Deputy contacted a nuisance transient illegally camped near Foster Dam, Foster Dam Road/North River Drive. They were sent on their way.

1:03 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor had contacted her regarding an unknown male changing the locks at her vacant residence, 300 block of Juniper St. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief.

1:19 p.m. – Caller reported that a roommate had brought a purse to a female hospitalized from May 1 to May 6, but the debit and credit cards were missing and fraudulent charges had been made to her now-frozen account, 1080 block of Main St.

3:21 p.m. – Deputy patrolling the Sheep Creek area attempted to cross to Soda Fork on 2043 and 2045, but had to turn back on both due to snow.

5:40 p.m. – Jeffrey Rowe, 53, of Sweet Home, was arrested on multiple outstanding Linn County warrants, 800 block of 43rd Ave. Report taken.

5:49 p.m. – Caller reported that his “irrational” grandfather attacked his brother, 1730 block of 13th Ave. Bruce Irving Lavalley, 69, was cited and released for domestic violence – harassment.

6:59 p.m. – Caller reported an unknown male fired a handgun once at another male, 27900 block Liberty Road. According to Sheriff’s Office, multiple people have been allowed to live at the rock quarry in trailers by the property owner. Two of the occupants were in a heated argument, when a third unknown male drove by in a older Dodge Dakota. The unknown male got out and fired a round at one of the callers. The male then drove off. No one else on the property saw the altercation, but heard a gunshot. No one on the property could identify the male, or the truck. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

7:54 p.m. – Bryce William McGowan, 39, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 2200 block of Nandina St.

11:44 p.m. – Caller reported stolen bicycles, 1350 block of Westwood Lane. Report taken. Approximate loss of value: $2,550.

May 26

1:33 a.m. – Suzanne Marie Stroud, 63, was cited and released on a Lebanon Justice Court warrant for probation violation, 2300 block of Main St.

8:40 a.m. – A can and bottle return area was reported as having been vandalized the previous evening, 1980 Main St. Report taken for third-degree theft. Value: $40.

8:44 a.m. – John Patrick Debrie, 40, was taken into custody for violation of a restraining order that occurred on May 12, 37500 block of Gilkey Road, Scio.

10:51 a.m. – Clarence David Lee Vogel, 22, was cited and released for third-degree theft, 1000 block of 7th Ave.

2:37 p.m. – Heather Linn Thompson, 43, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct and first-degree trespass, 870 block of 14th Ave.

2:46 p.m. – Deputy patrolling Quartzville area found a camp at Boulder Creek with a truckload of pallets. The campers were warned, and they put them back in the truck, 51400 block of Quartzville Road.

3:54 p.m. – Illegal campers reported on the bank of Green Peter, 45000 block of Quartzville Road.

5:03 p.m. – Thomas Mann, 36, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on warrants out of Linn County Justice Court and Benton County Circuit Court. Samantha Stotz, 31, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant, Hwy. 20/Quartzville Road.

5:19 p.m. – Samantha Leann Stotz, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Hwy. 20/Quartzville Road.

7:32 p.m. – Mollie Molene Anglim, 44, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for third-degree theft, 1200 block of 12th Ave. Also cited for driving with a suspended license.

8:56 p.m. – Multiple illegal camps were reported throughout the day in the Quartzville area. A deputy spotted one RV from an earlier illegal camp moved to milepost 10 on Quartzville Road. “This time they took me seriously and left.”
