Aug. 8
12:18 a.m. – Allen Dale Ensley, 33, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, 18th Ave./Main St.
12:28 a.m. – Matthew Carl Martin, 32, was arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of resisting arrest and failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree theft. Cited and released on Lebanon Municipal warrant for third-degree theft. Arrested on Linn County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of failure to appear on a second-degree original charge, 15th Ave./Long St.
8:43 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of small items from her boat at Edgewater Marina, 1400 block of 60th Ave., between July 30 and Aug. 6. Several boat owners have reported recent thefts from their crafts moored in the marina.
8:43 a.m. – Caller reports his bike stolen, 1227 46th Ave. Report taken for second degree theft, approximate value of $150.
11:22 a.m. – Caller reports his boat was vandalized, and things were stolen from inside of it, 4199 Main St. Report taken for second degree criminal mischief and first degree theft, approximate value $1,500.
1:18 p.m. – Kevin Earl Terwilliger, 59, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Albany Police Department.
1:25 p.m. – Caller reports identity theft. Report taken for fraudulent use of credit card and aggravated identity theft, 1369 47th Ave.
1:56 p.m. – Caller reports his clothes were stolen, 4824 Main St. Report taken for second degree theft, approximate loss of value $250.
4:52 p.m. – Caller reported that a Home Depot delivery driver dropped a riding lawn mower off next to a driveway in the 42000 block of Marks Ridge Drive, but left it partially in the road.
6:05 p.m. – Caller reports female kicked in door of residence, 1530 Tamarack St. Female appears under the influence of something. Brittany Chantel Coughran, 33, arrested for first degree burglary and harassment.
7:45 p.m. – Caller reported a broken-down motorhome blocking the Calkins boat ramp, 44500 block of Quartzville Road. Vehicle removed prior to Sheriff’s Office arrival.
Aug. 9
5:49 a.m. – Hunter Areil Ringheimer, 28, cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of third degree theft and failing to perform duties of a driver, 49th Avenue/Airport Road. Cited and released on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation. Arrested on Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation.
8:49 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle entry in the 45900 block of Hwy. 20. Wallet, IDs, debit/credit cards and $20 cash missing. Report taken.
11:37 a.m. – Caller reported a hit-and-run that had occurred during the Oregon Jamboree to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. Referred to the Sweet Home Police Department to make a report.
12:06 p.m. – Caller reports landlord cut her electrical cord with a knife, and took a swing at caller. Another caller reports neighbor and landlord are arguing. Another caller reports tenant was blowing dust all over tenants’ vehicles, when confronted she pointed the leaf blower at her landlord, 2300 Main St. Report taken for second degree criminal mischief.
1:39 p.m. – Caller reports vehicle was hit while parked at location, 1234 Main St. Downtown Lounge. Report taken, approximate cost of damage $500.
2:22 p.m. – Caller reported theft from a motor vehicle at River Bend Campground, 45900 block of Hwy. 20. Cell phone valued at $800 stolen. Under investigation. Report taken.
9:10 p.m. – Paul William Kizer, 36, cited and released on Lebanon Police Department warrant for driving with a suspended license, 2191 Ames Creek Rd.
Aug. 10
4:45 a.m. – Elderly female that lives at location has TV on really loud and sounds like an alarm going off, 2230 Main St. Caller attempted contact with her and no answer. Caregiver for location responded and upon entry subject was discovered that is prohibited by restraining order to be there. Danny John Kleiven, 65, arrested for violating restraining order.
8:46 a.m. – Caller reported a civil issue with a neighbor who had built a fence, according to the caller, five feet onto the caller’s property in the 28400 block of Pleasant Valley Road. The Sheriff’s Office provided info to the caller.
1:12 p.m. – Caller reports male paid for vehicle with a bad check, 6281 Main St. Report taken, investigation continuing, approximate loss of value $2,500.
2:44 p.m. – Cheri Lyn Olson, 50, cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, 1950 Main St.
2:46 p.m. – A stray black angus cow was reported in the area of Port Drive/Pleasant Valley Road. Cow disappeared into a large wooded area, and could not be located. Its owner was unknown.
4:19 p.m. – Caller reports trailer was broken into, 4199 Main St. Report taken for unauthorized entry into motor vehicle X3, first degree theft and first degree criminal mischief.
11:14 p.m. – Caller reports being assaulted by male who violated a no contact order, 1200 38th Ave E102. Officer responded, report taken for violation of no contact order, menacing, strangulation, and fourth degree domestic violence assault. Kelly Michael Engum, 41, arrested for violation of release agreement, fourth degree domestic violence assault, domestic violence menacing, domestic violence strangulation, attempting to elude a police officer and giving false information to a police officer.
11:48 p.m. – Sheriff’s Office responded after a property owner defended self and property from dogs. According to the Sheriff’s Office, two white dogs came onto the property and were chasing cows. The dogs charged when the caller tried running them off, and the caller shot the dogs. One dog was deceased, the other ran off and had not been located as of late in the week. 26500 block of Old Holley Road. Report taken.
Aug. 11
8:12 a.m. – Ember Ann McAlpin, 38, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree theft, Lebanon Police Department.
9:55 a.m. – Deputy responded to a report of a stray black Angus steer in the 41300 block of Port Drive. Owner was notified, responded, and was making arrangements to return the steer.
10:35 a.m. – Caller reported a break-in at his parents’ trailer, Storage Depot, 4199 Main St. Report taken for second-degree theft.
10:45 a.m. – Kimberly Mahr, 38, of Sweet Home, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant, 28400 block of Liberty Road. Report taken.
1:30 p.m. – An elderly female was promised a $50,000 BMW if she sent a caller $7,500. When she stopped at her bank, it was determined to be a scam. No money was sent, and the scammer stopped calling. 1000 block of Pleasant Valley Road.
1:31 p.m. – Caller reported a $200 theft, 820 block of 18th Ave. Report taken for second-degree theft.
1:44 p.m. – Caller reported that her mother was in a car crash in the area of 1st Ave./Hwy. 228. No injuries. Other party was being cooperative but had no insurance on the vehicle, which did not belong to him. Report taken for motor vehicle crash, damage over $2,500.
3:10 p.m. – Caller reported shots fired at her vehicle while she was in her house, 1700 block of 12th Ave. Report taken.
4:28 p.m. – Caller reported a trailer break-in, Storage Depot, 4199 Main St. Report taken for second-degree theft.
4:54 p.m. – Benjamin Philip Hyatt, 43, was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass, Thriftway, 621 Main St.
7:01 p.m. – Dennis James Citro, 47, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of false swearing, 38th Ave./Long St.
8:36 p.m. – James Albert Thompson IV, 50, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of giving false information to a police officer, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
8:42 p.m. – Caller reported upstairs neighbors stomping too loudly, 2500 block of Long St. Zoie Alexandria Dale Short was cited for violation of a city ordinance (noise).
9:19 p.m. – Matthew Carl Martin was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass, 900 block of Main St.
11:25 p.m. – Matthew Walsh, 32, of Sweet Home, was cited for felony driving while suspended, and for speeding, 83/55, Hwy. 20/Fairview Road. Report taken.
11:40 p.m. – Tiffany Dahlstrom, 45, of Albany, was cited on a warrant, Hwy. 20/Fairview Road. Report taken.
Aug. 12
3:15 a.m. – Caller reported $200 worth of tools stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of 60th Ave. Report taken.
7:17 a.m. – Caller reported that people set up camp in front of fire exits behind the building, Bi-Mart, 1980 Main St. Officer responded, contacted male and female at location, who were trespassed. Dustin Andrew Clarneau, 47, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for second degree criminal trespass. He was also served a 30-day exclusion from city parks.
7:40 a.m. – Caller reported a scanner theft from his vehicle, 6100 block of Main St. Report taken for first-degree theft and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. Approximate value: $3,500.
7:40 a.m. – Wallet, driver’s license and cards valued at approximately $110 were reported taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 44900 block of Quartzville Road.
8:45 a.m. – A key fob was reported taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 44900 block of Quartzville Road. Replacement cost $300.
9:06 a.m. – Caller reported a minor motor vehicle crash in area, 800 block of Long St. Report taken for non-injurious motor vehicle crash. Damage: over $2,500.
9:16 a.m. – April Grace Gerhold, 32, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second degree criminal mischief, Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
9:22 a.m. – David Joshua Wall, 27, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree theft, Lebanon Police Department.
9:30 a.m. – Curtis Ray Daniel, 48, was cited and released for first-degree theft, 4400 block of Ninebark Loop.
11:28 a.m. – Curtis Ray Daniel, 48, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass and failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 4400 block of Ninebark Loop.
12:09 p.m. – Caller reported theft of services, 1100 block of 2nd Ave. People cut locks and turned their water back on. Caller has since put locks back on and turned the water off.
3:35 p.m. – Caller reported a dirt-bike theft that morning, 300 block of W. Pine St. Report taken.
4:04 p.m. – A two-vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road/North River Drive. No injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. A juvenile driver was cited for making a dangerous left turn. Report taken.
6:17 p.m. – Deputies investigated an “ongoing littering offense” in the 28400 block of Liberty Road.
6:24 p.m. – Caller reported an RV break-in within the previous two weeks, 4100 block of Main St. Report taken for second-degree theft and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
8:05 p.m. – Deputies contacted multiple illegal camps along Quartzville Road north of Green Peter Reservoir.
8:35 p.m. – Caller falsely reported domestic violence in the 51100 block of Hwy. 20, according to the Sheriff’s Office, “to provoke a response from deputies,” then advised they only needed a ride. Warned about misuse of 911.
9:57 p.m. – Catherine Jean Hampton, 32, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fraudulent use of a credit card, Albany Police Department.
10:07 p.m. – Thomas Junior McCarthey, 58, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for driving with a suspended license, 700 block of 10th Ave.
10:31 p.m. – Steven Kenneth Stitt, 37, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second degree criminal mischief, 12th Ave./Main St. Cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for resisting arrest.
10:53 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious circumstance involving possible criminal mischief as someone smashed windows of a car in the 26000 block of 2nd St., Crawfordsville. The Sheriff’s Office responded; it turned out to be the vehicle’s owner. There is no noise ordinance applying to that location, so the deputy and individual had a conversation about not being considerate of neighbors and making sure no glass was left behind.
11:52 p.m. – Rebecca Charlene Fox, 25, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fraudulent use of a credit card, Albany Police Department.
11:52 p.m. – Donald Ray Walkup Jr., 27, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fourth-degree assault, Albany Police Department.
Aug. 13
12:23 a.m. – Garrett Stevens, 43, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on contempt of court warrant, 39500 block of Crawfordsville Drive. Report taken.
11:47 a.m. – Jaime Castro-Hernandez, 26, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Albany Police Department.
3:43 p.m. – Deputy contacted a female with Bounder motorhome, which had no plates and was accompanied by a black truck parked east of Edgewater condominiums in the 6000 block of Hwy. 20. She was given an hour to remove it.
5:44 p.m. – Dog owner cited for unleashed dog in Lewis Creek Park, 44400 block of North River Drive.
7:16 p.m. – Caller reported items taken from her deceased father’s residence within the previous week, 2500 block of Kalmia St. Report taken for second-degree burglary. Items were taken from an unlocked detached garage.
7:17 p.m. – Deputy contacted a group camp on BLM land in the 48300 block of Quartzville Road about “overstaying and littering.”
7:20 p.m. – Deputy contacted male at a campsite on BLM land in the 48300 block of Quartzville Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he was unlawfully trying to sell firewood.
8:07 p.m. – A Marine patrol deputy contacted seven illegal boat-in camps with six campfires along the bank of Green Peter. All were warned and told to leave in the morning. Fires put out. Report taken.
9:55 p.m. – Disturbance reported at Whitcomb Creek Campground, 47700 block of Quartzville Road, between an intoxicated male and another camper. The intoxicated male was advised to return to his campsite for the remainder of the night.
11:01 p.m. – Caller reported that his ex-girlfriend stole his money from his bank account while he was in jail, 1200 block of 38th Ave. Caller came to the police department to speak with an officer. Report taken for first-degree theft and computer crimes. Investigation continuing.
Aug. 14
7:13 a.m. – A juvenile male hiker was injured near the summit of Mt. Washington due to a fall in steep terrain. Linn County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, Corvallis Mountain Rescue and Eugene Mountain Rescue personnel responded. With assistance from Life Flight and National Guard helicopters, he was extracted and transported to St. Charles Hospital in Bend.
9:53 a.m. – An Albany resident camping at Sunnyside Park, 44900 block of Quartzville Road, reported that a 1970 Larsen inboard motor boat was entered during the evening. Two fishing poles and a tackle box were stolen. Report taken.
12:13 p.m. – Deputy warned trespasser to stay off neighbor’s property in the 40300 block of Crawfordsville Drive.
1:25 p.m. – Caller reported that a male in a parking lot appeared high and was yelling at people in the area, 1100 block of 12th Ave. Steven Kenneth Stitt, 37, was arrested for probation violation.
3:01 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a male attacking a female at Sankey Park, 877 14th Ave. Michael James Mansell, 24, was arrested for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.
6:34 p.m. – A dog found near McDowell Creek Park, 43100 block of McDowell Creek Drive, appeared to have been abandoned intentionally. Taken to Linn County Animal Control. Report taken.
CIRCUIT COURT
Stephen Michael Aziz, 68, petitioned on Aug. 5 that he will plead guilty to DUII, and the state will dismiss a charge of reckless driving.
Kayla Lynn Buster, 32, was charged on July 29 with first-degree theft for allegedly stealing lottery ticket books valuing more than $5,000 from US Mini Market.
Brittany Chantel Coughran, 33, was charged on Aug. 9 with harassment and first-degree burglary. Court documents allege she entered a residence on Tamarack Street with the intent to commit the crime of harassment.
Kelly Engum, 41, was charged on Aug. 11 with strangulation constituting domestic violence, third-degree escape and menacing constituting domestic violence. She paid 10% of a $20,000 bail.
Michael Anthony Giroux, 38, was sentenced on Aug. 4 to 44 months with the Oregon Department of Corrections and 10 years minus time actually served of post-prison supervision for each 11 counts of first-degree encouraging child sexual abuse based upon a no- contest plea.
Nathan Warren Honeyman, 32, was found guilty on July 29 of refusal to take a test for intoxicants when he was cited on April 26, 2022. He was fined $500.
Kately Jo Horn, 33, and Faron Walter Kennedy, 57, were charged on July 29 with first-degree theft for allegedly stealing lumber valuing more than $1,000 from Kokanee Wood Products.
Raymond Manuel McKendree, 20, was sentenced on Aug. 12 to 35 months with the Oregon Department of Corrections and 36 months post-prison supervision for charges of attempt to commit a Class B felony – second-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon based upon a no contest plea. Charges of strangulation and second-degree criminal mischief were dismissed.
William James Mott II, 55, was charged on Aug. 12 with DUII.
Tessa Marie Pimentel, 23, was charged on Aug. 1 with second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault.
Ryan Anthony Shelton, 28, was charged on Aug. 8 with DUII.
