Sweet Home police logs and circuit court updates, Aug. 28-Sept.4, 2022

Every individual named or referenced is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Paul Allen Conklin, 32, was charged Aug. 21 with first-degree forgery and two counts of identity theft. He has five other pending cases related to forgery, identity theft, computer crime, menacing, fraudulent use of a credit card, theft and failure to report as a sex offender.

Kevin Austin Corrington, 23, was charged Aug. 25 with DUII and reckless driving.

Bobby Alan Erickson, 28, pleaded guilty Aug. 25 to one count of first-degree sexual abuse, with the second count of the same charge dismissed, for incidents involving a male under the age of 14. He was sentenced to the custody of the Oregon Dept. of Corrections for 75 months, and 10 years minus time served to post-prison supervision.

Corey Brandon Ford, 30, was charged Aug. 26 with supplying contraband – specifically, a controlled substance – while confined in a correctional facility. Bail was set at $15,000. Ford has pending charges of identity theft, failure to appear, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree robbery and first-degree aggravated theft.

Issac Booker Justham, 23, was charged Aug. 23 with second-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

Carrie Lynne Miller, 42, was charged Aug. 22 with unauthorized use of a vehicle for allegations of not returning a rented car trailer.

Christian Aaron Morris, 20, was charged Aug. 29 with two counts of first-degree sex abuse, and first-degree attempted unlawful sexual penetration for allegations involving a female under 12 years old. Bail was set at $100,000.

Michael Eric Nickell, 33, was charged Aug. 22 with unlawful use of a weapon constituting domestic violence and menacing constituting domestic violence. He posted 10% of a $25,000 bail.

Jason Andrew Scott, 34, entered a plea petition on Aug. 23 of no contest to unlawful use of a weapon, with an agreement the charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree robbery, menacing, felon in possession of a firearm and another charge of unlawful use of a weapon be dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16.

Dustin Kyle Westling, 35, was charged Aug. 24 with unlawful contact with a child as a level 3 sex offender, harassment, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, and fourth-degree attempted assault. All allegations involve the same victim. Bail was set at $25,000.

SHPD LOGS

Aug. 28

9:12 a.m. – A chainsaw belonging to the caller’s employer was stolen from the back of the caller’s pickup truck sometime the previous evening, 3200 block of Main St. Value: $150.

12:38 p.m. – Alexis Morgan Bowers, 22, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third degree theft, 1400 block of Tamarack St.

3:18 p.m. – Mark Aaron Lamb, 45, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of reckless driving, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

5:03 p.m. – An officer was flagged over for a couple arguing and pushing each other, 46th Ave./Main St. Billy Joe Richardson, 56, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving with a suspended license. Kaitlyn Rae Carpenter, 23, was cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of a criminal citation, as well as possession of a Schedule 3 substance and possession of meth.

8:55 p.m. – Jamie Elizabeth Geiger, 37, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Albany Police Department.

10:31 p.m. – Franklin Joe Whitton, 42, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation/resisting an officer, 2000 block of Main St. Also cited for driving with a suspended license and having no insurance.

11:17 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a man yelling threats to kill a female, 1100 block of 12th Ave. Machaelray Jensen, 41, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal trespass.

Aug. 29

3:04 a.m. – Kyle Michael Miller, 26, was cited and released on a Linn County Justice Court warrant for second degree theft and a Benton County Justice Court warrant for driving under the influence of intoxicants, 890 Main St.

12 p.m. – Paul William Kalina, 47, was cited and released for failure to comply on an original charge of theft of service, 1950 Main St.

Aug. 30

11:42 a.m. – Caller reported that her bike was stolen sometime the previous evening, 2200 block of Ironwood St. Report taken for second-degree theft. Approximate value: $200.

12:56 p.m. – Caller found two bags containing drug paraphernalia, 400 block of 11th Ave. Items seized for disposal.

3:52 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor stole a live trap with a cat inside. A deputy learned that the trap would be returned after the neighbor got off work. 39600 block of Hwy. 228.

7:41 p.m. – Brody Dylan Bur-right, 20, was cited for driving uninsured, 4500 block of Main St.

8:41 p.m. – Jacob Robert Long, 25, was cited for having no driver’s license and driving uninsured, 900 block of 14th Avenue.

9:21 p.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez, 46, was cited and released on a Linn County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass and a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1900 block of Main St.

Aug. 31

12:07 a.m. – Bradley Allan Hilburn, 21, of Sweet Home, was arrested for interfering with a peace officer during a domestic violence investigation. Kirene Sophia Richelle Leslie, 19, of Lebanon, was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence. Both were transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken. 28700 block of Liberty Road.

11:51 a.m. – Caller received a counterfeit bill, 2200 block of Main St. Report taken for third-degree theft and first-degree forgery. Value: $50.

6:24 p.m. – Caller reported items stolen the previous evening plus video footage for an officer to review, 4400 block of Main St. Report taken for second-degree theft. Approximate value: $575.

10:36 p.m. – Caller reported that a female hit him while he was holding their child. He was now following her, 18th Ave./Kalmia St. Report taken for domestic violence harassment.

Sept. 1

12:19 a.m. – Jake Sorrell, 25, of Sweet Home, was cited for possession of drugs, Wiley Creek Drive/Riggs Hill Road. Report taken.

4:58 a.m. – Caller reported a broken window, Mr. Lucky’s Deli, 1207 Long St. Report taken for second-degree burglary and first-degree theft.

8:50 a.m. – Caller reported a swerving vehicle driven by a man using his cellphone, 2400 block of Main St. westbound. Scott Kevin Heinz, 35, was cited and released for criminal driving and driving uninsured.

10:46 a.m. – Caller reported finding a baggie containing pills, 500 block of Oak Terrace. Caller disposed of items.

10:55 a.m. – Brandon Craig Phillips, 31, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.

11:25 a.m. – Caller reported a fraudulent check emailed from someone who’d employed him, 2200 block of Nandina St. Report taken for first-degree forgery and negotiating a bad check.

2:28 p.m. – Caller reported a male on the side of the building, refusing to leave and attempting to set pine cones on fire, Sweet Home Family Medicine, 679 Main St. Report taken for reckless burning.

2:50 p.m. – Caller reported a stolen gun, 2200 block of Main St. Report taken.

4:02 p.m. – Luke David Rice, 33, was arrested on a Marion County Circuit Court warrant for assault on an officer, third-degree escape and resisting arrest, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.

4:23 p.m. – Caller reported fraudulent charges on account, 1200 block of 47th Ave. Report taken. Approximate loss of value: $1,400.

5:33 p.m. – Tony Ray Roebuck, 28, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree attempted burglary, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

8:57 p.m. – Deputies responded to a woman on the side of the road, yelling for help in the 25200 block of Brush Creek Drive. They learned she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, who kicked her out of the car. No crimes. She was given a ride home.

11:08 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the 5400 block of Main St. An Officer responded and pulled it over. The driver did not have any lumber in the back of his truck. Billy Richardson, 56, was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 2

11:41 a.m. – Robert Church, 50, was arrested for failure to appear warrant out of Linn County Circuit Court, 45900 block of Hwy. 20.

3:25 p.m. – Caller reported that his son had stolen checks from him and attempted to cash them at an ATM. He also stated that tires at Les Schwab were purchased in his name, 2200 block of Main St. Report taken for second-degree theft and second-degree forgery.

5:06 p.m. – Jerhami Homenyk, 44, was arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of second degree criminal trespass X2, Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

5:52 p.m. – Caller reported a license plate stolen from a vehicle, 1200 block of 46th Ave. Report taken for second-degree theft. Approximate loss of value: $130.

9:11 p.m. – Haven Austin Hansen, 27, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, 1800 block of Kalmia St.

11:55 p.m. – Emmanuel Wayne Peters, 26, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of contempt of court, and a cite-and-release warrant for failure to appear on an original charge X2, 700 block of Redwood St.

Sept. 3

12:21 a.m. – Deputy checked Camp Tadmor after a dispatcher received several 911 hangups, but heard only talking and laughter. No signs of trouble. 43900 block of McDowell Creek Drive.

12:49 a.m. – Taylor Ray Plummer, 29, was arrested on Lebanon Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of driving with a suspended license misdemeanor X2, and Linn County warrants for reckless driving, Ashbrook Park.

7:12 a.m. – Deputies responded to a call regarding horses loose in the 27000 block of Rowell Hill Road. The animals’ owner had secured them by the time of the Sheriff’s Office arrival.

11:05 a.m. – Daniel James Lut-ton, 50, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

11:18 a.m. – Caller reported writing on the walls between Key Bank and Sugar Vibes, 1000 block of Main St. Report taken for third-degree criminal mischief.

12:36 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle break-in and stolen wallet, 1200 block of 40th Ave. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

12:53 p.m. and following – Deputies patrolling Quartzville area and North River Drive contacted multiple illegal camps.

1:03 p.m. – Caller reported a physical disturbance in the 1100 block of 22nd Ave. Report taken for domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

2:13 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a motor vehicle crash in the 1000 block of Main St. Vehicle was towed. Female was taken home by medics. Catherine Louise Flippo, 69, was cited for damaging a city curb.

3:42 p.m. – Joshua Scott Dawson, 43, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fourth-degree assault, and attempting to commit a class C felony, 760 block of Mountain View Road.

4:54 p.m. – Kelly John Allen, 45, of Sweet Home, was arrested after a deputy investigated a criminal mischief report on BLM property in the area of Milepost 19 on Quartzville Road. According to the Sheriff’s log, Allen was arrested for reckless burning, having a campfire where it was unlawful to do so. Transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken.

6:03 p.m. – Caller reported a needle in a bathroom at Sankey Park. Item seized for disposal.

9:29 p.m. – Deputy stopped a truck “driving all over the road” due to a flat tire, according to the Sheriff’s log. Truck was safely parked off road. 18th Ave./Main St.

11:39 p.m. – Steven Lee Ballweber was cited for driving with a suspended license and driving uninsured, Wells Fargo, 550 Main St.

Sept. 4

1:20 a.m. – Leonard John Finnell was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of initiating a false report. Arrested on Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of first degree burglary and second degree theft, 700 block of Long St.

2:41 a.m. – Deputy advised individuals in Foster Dam “Poverty Beach” parking area that it is for day use only, 5900 block of Poplar St.

6:52 p.m. – Caller reported speeding/racing on Pleasant Valley Road near Berlin Road.

7:42 p.m. – Mather Barker, 22, of Sweet Home, was cited for driving while suspended in the 40400 block of Hwy. 228 (Holley School).
