Sweet Home police logs, Aug. 22-28, 2022

Aug. 22

12:10 a.m. – Perry Leroy White, 58, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal driving with a suspended license, Albany Police Department.

8:34 a.m. – A boat stolen from the Sunnyside boat slips was located at Edgewater Marina. Not apparent that any items had been stolen. 44900 block of Quartzville Road. Report taken.

7:01 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke part of a fence and threw signs and a barricade into a yard in the 1000 block of Long St. Sweet Home Fire District. Report taken for third-degree criminal mischief.

8:54 a.m. – Callers reported a motor vehicle crash at Gilbert Lane/Hwy. 228. A female operator was transported to Lebanon Community Hospital by medics. Thomas Ray Pimentel, 24, was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving uninsured and following too closely.

9:02 a.m. – Caller reported that a male had returned on his property, and the caller wanted him arrested, 1300 block of Sunset Lane. Kelly John Allen, 45, was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

9:56 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle break-in, 900 block of Timber St. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and first-degree theft.

10:36 a.m. – Sterling Sherburn, 22, was cited and released for third-degree theft, 15th Ave./Long St.

12:57 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of tools and a weedeater from his shed, 4200 block of Long St. Report taken for first-degree theft.

1:30 p.m. – Caller reported a fold-up wagon stolen from the 1400 block of 60th Ave. sometime between the evenings of Aug. 18-21. Value: $80. Report taken.

5:04 p.m. – Ronald Kelley Nelson, 41, of Sweet Home, was arrested on multiple warrants. Transported to Linn County Jail. 45000 block of Quartzville Road. Report taken.

5:52 p.m. – Breanna Marie Mansell, 28, was cited and released on a Lebanon Justice Court warrant for contempt, 1400 block of 40th Ave.

7:44 p.m. – Heather Linn Thompson, 42, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of unauthorized use of motor vehicle, 1100 block of 12th Ave.

8:01 p.m. – A fence and porta-potty were vandalized, Ashbrook Park, 2800 Juniper St. Report taken.

10:27 p.m. – Spencer Dean Borthwick, 28, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of initiating a false report, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Aug. 23

3:23 a.m. – David Samson, 61, of Sweet Home, was cited on a warrant and for driving while suspended, driving uninsured. 1200 block of 46th Ave. Report taken.

3:36 a.m. – David Wayne Samson, 61, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of carrying a concealed weapon, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

10:23 a.m. – A dirt bike was reported as found on private timberland, 41600 block of Marks Ridge Drive. Described as a late 1960s, early ’70s yellow Yamaha dirt bike found down on private timberland. One to 2 inches of moss was covering the bike. The bike was not listed as stolen and was not registered. The bike was left in place after confirming it was not listed as stolen.

10:25 a.m. – Miguel Alfredo Gutierrez, 39, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of giving false information to law enforcement, Linn County Jail.

11:29 a.m. – Amber Moak-Ramirez, 38, of Sweet Home, was cited for a dog as a public nuisance, 40900 block of Hwy. 228. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a male dachshund, 13, ran onto neighbor’s property, bit neighbor in the ankle. Neighbor was treated at hospital. Quarantine order issued for dog bite.

2:06 p.m. – Caller in the 48700 block of Hwy. 20 reported his wife missing. According to the Sheriff’s Office, caller’s wife went to Salem Hospital for routine treatment. When the wife did not return when expected, he called 911. The wife was located at Salem Hospital after being admitted in the Emergency Room. Caller was advised of the situation.

4:14 p.m. – Caller reported his vehicle was damaged by another vehicle while parked at the Scott Mountain Trailhead, 38400 block of Mountain Home Drive.

6:34 p.m. – Harvey Michael Kapicka, 37, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court cite-and-release warrant for second-degree theft and second-degree criminal trespass, 1200 block of Long St.

7:49 p.m. – Caller reported that her purse and other items were stolen early Monday morning, 1500 block of Tamarack St. Report taken for first-degree theft.

8:29 p.m. – Joshua Roebuck, 35, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on outstanding warrants, 28200 block Ridgeway Road. Report taken.

8:36 p.m. – Caller reported that a male arrested earlier for trespassing had returned, 1500 block of Main St. Harvey Michael Kapicka, 37, was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass.

10:27 p.m. – Dustin Westling, 35, of Sweet Home, was cited for driving while suspended, 28400 block of Hwy. 20. Report taken.

Aug. 24

12:34 a.m. – Deputy advised a camper that he could not spend the night in the 43700 block of North River Drive. Advised to move along.

1:40 a.m. – Dustin Kyle Westling, 35, was arrested for unlawful contact with a child, harassment, and third degree sexual abuse, 1950 Main St.

12:29 p.m. – Caller reported that someone had painted her vehicle the previous day, 1100 block of 23rd Ave. Report taken.

2:47 p.m. – Deputy responded to a report of two individuals on the safety barrier around the swim area at Lewis Creek Park. Deputy spotted one male on the barrier, who did not match a description in the call, but he got off when instructed to do so.

3:51 p.m. – Caller reported a male falling down inside a building. He then got into his vehicle and left eastbound, 600 block of Main St. He was stopped in the roadway at a green light. Gregory Cecil Bryant was cited and released for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

9:23 p.m. – Caller reported people physically fighting in the road, 1500 block of Main St. Cassandra Rose Banta was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Aug. 25

12:12 a.m. – Caller reported someone trying to get into his home, 300 block of W. Holley Rd. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief. Value: over $500.

3:37 a.m. – Shauna Ray Harden, 28, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

3:48 a.m. – Thomas Charles Mann, 35, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

8:24 a.m. – Caller reported a stolen vehicle, 1700 block of Elm St. Report taken for unauthorized use of motor vehicle.

11:11 a.m. – Leslee Huerta-Fernandez, 36, of Sweet Home, was cited for failure to license dog, 1800 block of Kalmia St.

8:18 p.m. – Caller reported a trespassed male at location, 1500 block of Main St. Harvey Michael Kapicka was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass.

10:30 p.m. – Unidentified individuals showed up at a residence in the 46900 block of Old Hufford Drive demanding to see their kids, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Individuals at the location did not have the children and called LCSO to report trespassers. According to LCSO, Sweet Home police asked LCSO to check the location for the father of two kids who were at Sweet Home Police Station with their mother. They said the father was harassing the residents of the location, looking for his kids. The father was directed to Sweet Home to contact SHPD about the custody issues.

Aug. 26

12:06 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle break-in and items stolen, 1300 block of Main St. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree mischief and second-degree theft. Approximate value: $456.

12:29 a.m. – Rufi Cristeva, 26, of Salem, was cited for speeding, 88/55, Hwy. 20/Dew Road.

12:36 a.m. – Ashley Bowers, 25, of Sweet Home, was cited and released for contempt of court, Lebanon Municipal Court. 39500 block Crawfordsville Drive. Report taken.

9:27 a.m. – Sheriff’s Office concluded that a death in the 44400 block of Shea Hill Drive was a suicide. Report taken.

2:16 p.m. – Caller reported a male attempting to use a false prescription for his medications, Economy Drug, 621 Main St. Christopher Thomas Morton, 38, was cited and released for second degree forgery.

2:32 p.m. – Joel Tyler Inkenbrandt, 28, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for unlawful purchase of a firearm, Eugene Police Department.

4:48 p.m. – Caller reported theft of culvert repair materials from Campbell-Global in the 45200 block of Wiley Creek Drive. Timber company was about to replace culverts, which were on the side of the road. Valued at $9,300. Report taken.

5:24 p.m. – Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle crash in the 46400 block of Quartzville Road. Operator William Moomaw, 56, of Corvallis, lost control of motorcycle, ran into a ditch. He was transported to a hospital with “minor injuries.” Report taken.

7:41 p.m. – Caller reported a male bent over a parking sign, 13th Ave./Kalmia St. Report taken for second-degree criminal mischief. Contacted male, who denied involvement but was warned for open container.

11:54 p.m. – Wade Felton Lloyd, 58, was cited and released for driving with a suspended license, 7-Eleven, 2405 Hwy. 20.

Aug. 27

10:44 a.m. – Caller reported a street sign thrown over a fence into a back lot, 1099 Long St. Sweet Home Fire District. Report taken for third-degree criminal mischief and offensive littering.

11:04 a.m. – Marcus Wesley Hesson, 50, was arrested for third-degree criminal mischief and offensive littering, 1100 block of 12th Ave. Arrested on Linn County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of resisting arrest.

1:28 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle partially blocking Cascade Timber Consulting gate at Scott Mountain Road/Crawfordsville Drive. Owner’s family was contacted to have it removed.

6:44 p.m. – Deputy encountered “repeat offender” transients attempting to illegally camp near milepost 3 in the 45600 block of Quartzville Road. They were advised to pack up and move on.

7:20 p.m. – Deputy patrolling on water at Green Peter located two illegal camps with fires. They were warned. 46400 block of Quartzville Road.

7:47 p.m. – Caller reported finding a partial set of dentures in the 50000 block of Gordon Meadows Road. Turned in to the Sheriff’s Office.

10:10 p.m. – Sunnyside campers “causing an issue” with others in the campground, according to the Sheriff’s Office, were given an exclusion by park staff for multiple rule violations. 44900 block of Quartzville Road.

10:19 p.m. – Christian Morris, 21, was arrested for first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, 1000 block of 38th Ave.

Aug. 28

2:06 a.m. – Stolen vehicle, a 1991 Nissan pickup from Sweet Home, was recovered in the 39800 block of Brownsville Road. in Lebanon. Report taken.

9:12 a.m. – A chainsaw belonging to the caller’s employer was stolen from the back of the caller’s pickup truck sometime the previous evening, 3200 block of Main St. Report taken. Value: $150.

12:38 p.m. – Alexis Morgan Bowers, 22, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, 1400 block of Tamarack St.

1:52 p.m. – Caller reported that boats had crashed against each other at Edgewater Marina, 1400 block of 60th Ave.

3:18 p.m. – Mark Aaron Lamb, 45, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of reckless driving, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

3:20 p.m. – Caller reported theft of property from Edgewater Marina, 1400 block 60th Ave. Missing were Kenwood stereo, Edge and Zapco amps, taken from the boat sometime in July. Valued at $800. Reporting person saw a deputy and it reminded him of the theft in July.

5:03 p.m. – Officer flagged over for a couple arguing and pushing, 46th Ave./Main St. Billy Joe Richardson, 56, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of driving with a suspended license. Kaitlyn Rae Carpenter, 23, was cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of a criminal citation, possessing a schedule III substance, and possession of meth.

7:54 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles breaking items behind Crawfordsville School, 38400 block of Glass St. Report taken.

8:55 p.m. – Jamie Elizabeth Geiger, 37, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third degree theft, Albany Police Department.

10:31 p.m. – Franklin Joe Whitton, 42, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation/resisting an officer. Also cited for driving with a suspended license and no insurance, 2000 Main St.

11:17 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a man yelling threats to kill a female, 1100 block of 12th Ave. Machaelray Jensen, 41, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass and failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree criminal mischief.
