Sweet Home police logs, July 11-18

July 11

10:49 a.m. – Deputies responded to non-injury crash in 48600 block Quartzville Rd. Vehicle totaled. Driver arranged own tow. Report taken.

3:12 p.m. – Caller reported dog in vehicle, Foster Dam/North River Dr. Sheriff’s Office responded, found dog tethered to outside of vehicle in sun. Owner, whose name was not listed, cited for unlawful tethering. Report taken.

3:54 p.m. – Multiple vehicles parked illegally at second bridge on Quartzville Road. Drivers located and warned.

4:13 p.m. – Caller reported vehicle burglary in 40800 block McDowell Creek Dr. Report taken.

9:44 p.m. – Ciaran Whaley, 40, of Sweet Home, cited for driving uninsured, operating without required lighting. 40100 block Hwy. 228.

July 12

9:40 a.m. – Jerry Erickson, age not listed, of Crawfordsville, cited for driving while suspended, 28600 block Kingsbury Rd.

10:36 a.m. – Caller reported that an old relative and her adult children had broken into her house and stolen multiple items, 1500 block of Tamarack St. The incident was reportedly captured on camera. A report was taken for first-degree burglary.

10:41 a.m. – Caller reported three aggressive dogs running loose in his backyard and climbing over fences, 1080 block of 24th Ave. Christina Louise Roe, 39, was cited for dog as a public nuisance.

10:47 a.m. – Arne Joseph Gerard, 45, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of failure to perform duties of a driver when property is damaged, 1950 Main St.

10:51 a.m. – Caller reported a male exposed himself to employees while urinating in the parking lot, 600 block of Main St. David Philip Reeder, 62, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for second degree trespass.

4:37 p.m. – Ashley Elizabeth Price, 29, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, 1950 Main St.

5:09 p.m. – Caller reported a female going through her and her neighbor’s trash cans, 700 block of 28th Ave. Amanda Leah Binks, 29, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft and failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct. Cited and released on Lebanon a Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft, and an Albany Municipal Court cite-and-release warrant for second-degree theft.

5:41 p.m. – Caller reported a theft in the 1600 block of Fir St. A report was taken for second-degree theft.

July 13

11:39 a.m. – Deputy responded to report of verbal argument at Old Miners Meadow, 51300 block Quartzville Rd., between group site and someone trying to set up illegal camp. Illegal camper was told to move along.

12:49 p.m. – Caller reported miscellaneous tools taken over past six months. 1000 block Pleasant Valley Rd. Report taken.

6:38 p.m. – Deputies responded to report of disturbance at Sunnyside boat ramp. Multiple people involved, but parties separated by time deputies arrived. Investigation ongoing. 44900 block Quartzville Rd. Report taken.

7:39 p.m. – Patrick James Mallory, 29, arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon Police Department.

8:33 p.m. – Caller reported female walking in 42000 block North River Dr., followed by male in vehicle. Deputy located the two, learned they had had an argument and assistance was not needed.

9:00 p.m. – Deputies responded to verbal altercation at Sunnyside Day Use Area, involving 20 to 30 people. Deputies separated the group, told them to leave park.

10:09 p.m. – Veronica Sue Szuch, 26, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft and a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Safeway, 1540 Main St.

11:09 p.m. – James Mortensen, 23, of Sweet Home, cited for speeding, 56/35, driving while suspended and driving uninsured. 3100 block Hwy. 20.

July 14

3:33 a.m. – Kelly Duane Kearns, 50, was arrested on a Lincoln County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of meth possession X2 and cited for a meth possession violation, Long Street near Highway 228.

9:34 a.m. – Deputy assisted Bradley Hilburn of Sweet Home in catching his three piglets that were running loose in 28700 block Liberty Rd.

12:24 p.m. – Deputy took information on two lost dogs in House Rock area, 27000 block Latiwi Creek Rd.

1:17 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs running loose and attempting to attack a neighbor’s dogs, 16th Ave./Dogwood St. A 17-year-old female was cited for dog as a public nuisance.

3:14 p.m. – Caller reported Apple watch, cash stolen, 44700 block Quartzville Rd. Report taken.

3:45 p.m. – Caller reported neighbors growing at least 20 marijuana plants in their backyard, 700 block of Birch St. A report was taken; the investigation is continuing.

4:59 p.m. – Kagen Cowart, 18, arrested on warrants, 44900 block Quartzville Rd. Report taken.

8:49 p.m. – Fredrick Wilkins Cadger, 55, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 4500 block of Main St.

July 15

10:50 a.m. – Haven Austin Hansen, 26, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless endangering X2.

1:07 p.m. – Vehicle parked across walking path in 6300 block Hwy. 20. Owner moved it.

1:56 p.m. – Caller reported more than 20 items stolen from a location in the 1400 block of Poplar St. A report was taken.

2:29 a.m. – Caller reported hit-and-run in which calf was killed, 29600 block Fairview Rd. Calf valued at $500.

5:37 p.m. – Caller reported car keys stolen from day use area at Sunnyside Park, 44900 block Quartzville Rd. Report taken.

6:32 p.m. – Steven Kenneth Stitt, 37, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Albany.

7:51 p.m. – Deputy assisted family who locked keys to their vehicle in trunk of the car. Since they had no cell coverage in 51600 block Hwy. 20, deputy contacted tow for them.

10:51 p.m. – Oscar Phillips, 50, of Sweet Home, cited on warrant, 44000 block North River Dr. Report taken.

July 16

2:30 p.m. – Caller reported that someone had stolen a table for sale in front of his house, 2400 block of Long St. A report was taken for second-degree theft.

6:41 p.m. – Autumn Hardy, 42, of Hillsboro, cited and released for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to install ignition interlock system.

July 17

5:52 a.m. – Felisia Krystal Kay Pecue, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

2:41 p.m. – Denise Rochelle Burrow, 55, was cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on original charges of possession of meth and a citation X20. Also cited and released for first degree-criminal trespass.

7:27 p.m. – Heather Linn Thompson, 42, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespass and first-degree criminal mischief, and a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.

9:13 p.m. – Caller reported a male yelling at someone in a vehicle and threatening a physical disturbance, parking lot, Safeway, 1540 Main St. The person in the vehicle attempted to leave but was blocked by the suspect. An officer responded but was unable to find the disturbance at the location, as the vehicles were gone on arrival. Luke Kenneth Dale Buehner, 38, was cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on original charges of a criminal citation X2, a second-degree charge X4 and contempt of court. Joshua Martin Hughes, 20, was cited and released for reckless driving and cited for driving with a suspended license and speeding 100/35.

July 18

3:12 a.m. – David Sterling Schwan, 32, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Albany Police Department.

5:01 a.m. – Daniel Joseph Maurice, 56, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal driving, Lebanon Police Department.
