Sweet Home police logs Sept. 19-25, 2022

Every individual named or referenced is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Andrew James Freitag, 21, was charged Sept. 15 with DUII and criminal driving while suspended or revoked.

Wendy Lee Grogan, 53, was charged Sept. 9 with perjury, a Class C felony.

Steven Lanham, 66, was sentenced Sept. 21 to two consecutive sentences of 75 months with the Oregon Department of Corrections, 10 years post-prison supervision and a total of $650 in fines based upon a no-contest plea for two counts of first-degree sex abuse to a female under age 14 between 2011 and 2017. Two other counts of the same were dismissed.

Jason Andrew Scott, 35, was sentenced Sept. 16 to 19 months with the Oregon Department of Corrections, 24 months post-prison supervision and a $200 fine based on a no-contest plea to unlawful use of a weapon. Incarceration is consecutive to other sentences for first-degree criminal mischief and felon in possession of a firearm. Charges of attempting to commit any degree of murder/aggravated murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and felon in possession of a firearm were dismissed.

Isaiah Thomas Yocum-Stucky, 22, was sentenced Sept. 15 to 90 days in jail and 24 months bench probation based on a no-contest plea to fourth-degree assault and attempting to commit a Class C/unclassified felony first-degree criminal mistreatment.

Sept. 19

12:21 p.m. – Deputy responded to a littering violation and removed trash from the 47600 block of Cascadia Drive.

2:10 p.m. – Citizen reported a male threatening husband with a firearm and hitting him, 150 block of Main St. Raymond Paul Kelly, 61, was arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, harassment and menacing.

8:31 p.m. – Caller reported stolen items, 1100 block of Nandina St. Report taken for first-degree burglary and second-degree theft. Approximate value: $500.

Sept. 20

9:18 a.m. – Caller reported that a male stole a drink from her shed and left on foot while consuming it, 1200 block of Main St. Linus Ezra Morgan, 35, was cited and released for third-degree theft.

6:33 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle window broken with a bottle, 960 block of Poplar St. Report taken.

7:46 p.m. – Parker Stephens-Tiley, 21, was cited and released for second-degree criminal mischief, 380 block of Strawberry Loop.

Sept. 21

8:21 a.m. – Caller reported being assaulted by her husband the previous evening, 2300 block of Main St. She did not report it to the police because he’d left. However, he threatened to return, frightening the caller. Report taken for harassment.

8:45 a.m. – Caller reported a RV door handle damaged in a break-in attempt, 4300 block of Main St. Report taken for third-degree criminal mischief.

1:37 p.m. – Rick Walnum, 44, and Kasaundra Hails, 33, both of Albany, were arrested for first-degree burglary, 40800 block of McDowell Creek Drive. Report taken.

4:01 p.m. – Mica Deann West, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Newport Police Department.

4:45 p.m. – Caller reported people in the brush beneath the bridge, 5900 block of Main St. Officer responded. Both males were advised to move along. Curtis Ray Daniel, 48, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of first-degree theft.

7:17 p.m. – Felisia Krystal Kay Pecue, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Lebanon Police Department.

8:33 p.m. – Natasha Sue Funk, 43, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Philomath Police Department.

Sept. 22

2:12 p.m. – Caller reported a male in a vehicle rifling through multiple wallets, 12th Ave./Long St. Caller is concerned the wallets are stolen. Officer responded. It was determined that both wallets belonged to the man. Thomas Ray Pimentel, 24, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of failure to perform duties of a driver when property is damaged.

3:12 p.m. – Caller reported a customer putting items in pockets, 620 block of Main St. Alexander Lyaskovets was cited and released for third-degree theft.

6:27 p.m. – Curtis Raymond Hughes, 48, was arrested on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court. Arrested on Oregon State Parole Board warrant for a probation violation. Also cited for driving with a suspended license, parking lot, Dollar General, 1937 Main St.

8:00 p.m. – Michael Jones, 24, was cited and released for second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree escape, 1500 block of Main St.

Sept. 23

1:23 a.m. – Joey Dawayne Persinger, 29, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Albany Police Department.

9:36 a.m. – Caller reported a male attacked by his son, 2400 block of Harding St. Report taken for harassment.

12:06 p.m. – Employee at the location reported a sandwich stolen by a male, who subsequently left on foot, 621 Main St. Josiah Andrew Bybee, 23, was arrested for third-degree theft and on Benton County cite-and-release warrants for first-degree burglary, failure to appear on an original charge of second degree burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized entry into motor vehicle X2 and second-degree criminal mischief.

12:28 p.m. – Caller reported their car stolen from the 43700 block of Wiley Creek Drive. Further information unavailable. Report taken.

6:15 p.m. – Stolen vehicle recovered for owner in the 49200 block of Hwy. 20, Cascadia. According to Sheriff’s Office, caller reported driving by location and seeing a family member’s stolen 1993 Honda Accord on the property. LCSO confirmed it was the same car, stolen in Halsey a month ago, and recovered it from the address in Cascadia.

6:45 p.m. – Caller reported theft of car battery from the 39600 block of Hwy. 228. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

11:18 p.m. – Peter Piazza, 38, of Sweet Home, was cited and released on warrant, arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree animal neglect, Linn County Sheriff’s Office. 43600 block of North River Drive. Report taken.

Sept. 24

12:16 a.m. – Brad Bourland, 34, of Albany, was arrested for DUII and reckless driving, on a warrant, and driving while suspended, driving uninsured and driving with expired registration, 26600 block of Old Holley Road. Lodged in Linn County Jail. Vehicle impounded. Report taken.

5:06 a.m. – Bryanna Sue Harley, 30, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third degree theft, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

11:43 a.m. – Ashley Elizabeth Price, 29, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, 3900 block of Green River Road.

12:35 p.m. – Caller reported a noninjury motor vehicle crash in the 3200 block of Main St. Drivers exchanged information, damage over $2,500.

7:39 p.m. – Kenneth Wayne Barney, 39, was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving, eastbound on Main Street from milepost 25.

Sept. 25

2:14 a.m. – Brian Holden, 46, was cited for driving with a suspended license, Trailer Villa.

7:31 a.m. – Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 23500 block of Brush Creek Road. According to Sheriff’s Office, a 1998 red Dodge Durango left the road and struck a tree. The engine caught on fire. A female was seen walking away before deputies or fire personel arrived. The fire was put out, and the female was not located. LCSO investigating who the driver was. Report taken.

11:49 a.m. – Obed Pizarro, 35, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, and possession of meth, 4200 block of Osage St. Cited and released on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft.

11:58 a.m. – An officer found meth on a male during an arrest, 4200 block of Osage St. Obed Pizarro, 35, was cited and released for possession of meth misdemeanor.

2:17 p.m. – Caller reported finding what appeared to be a baggie with paraphernalia, 1040 block of Long St. Property seized for destruction.

7:34 p.m. – Johnnie Neal, 74, of Lebanon, was cited for careless driving following a noninjury crash near milepost 14.5 on Quartzville Road. Report taken.
