The Lebanon Schools Foundation awarded 12 teachers with grants for their creative classroom ideas that are now partially or entirely funded. The projects included field trips, 3D printing supplies, art supplies, OBOB books, agricultural projects and food handlers cards.
The recipients awarded teacher grants this year are: Rachel Brandt (Pioneer) $500; Darlene Calahan (LHS) $300; Elaina Dowdy (Hamilton Creek) $467; Amanda Gaskey (Cascades) $290; Marcia Hara (LHS) $288; Maureen Holt (Riverview) $500; Luis De Luna (LHS) $482; Andrew McAteer (Seven Oak) $417; Ryan McWayne (Cascades) $500; Lori Mills (Riverview) $500; Amanda Sater (Seven Oak) $500; and Jennifer Schmidt (Seven Oak) $275.
The Foundation, established in 1997, is a nonprofit organization of community members whose mission is to enhance the educational experience of local students. Many of their funds come from school employees through payroll deduction, as well as other generous supporters throughout the community.
